New scientific reports are describing a surprising outburst of activity from the comet 67P, measured by instruments on the European Space Agency Rosetta probe in February of this year. The explanation that ESA investigators have offered is “we think the outburst must have been triggered by a landslide at the surface.” Thunderboltsproject, a project that researches the electric universe, suggests that perhaps the electrical theory of comets offer a better explanation. They refer to an electrostatic discharge on the planet observed during the outburst of activity i.e. Her Conservatives struck an outline. Some kind of flash near the surface. But was it an electrostatic discharge during the outburst of activity which caused a “landslide” or it was caused by something completely different. They said comet 67P is not a comet at all but in fact a spaceship that is sending signals. Now suppose that the flash observed near the surface is a thruster used to change the trajectory of the spaceship and the outburst of this thruster caused displacement of rocks and other things on the surface, what the ESA investigators called a “landslide”. Adding chlorine to drinking water is a practice that began in the late 1800s, and by 1904 this was the standard in water treatment. For the most part, this process is still implemented today. Unfortunately, chlorine isn’t used because it’s the safest or most effective means of disinfection — it’s just the cheapest. In spite of all our technological advances, we essentially still pour bleach in our water before we drink it. The long-term effects of chlorinated drinking water have just recently being recognized. Past research has indicated it may be a contributor to cancer; however, there is no conclusive data to replicate these findings. [] History of Chlorine Danger Dr. Joseph Price wrote a highly controversial book in the late sixties titled Coronaries/Cholesterol/Chlorine and concluded that the basic cause of atherosclerosis and resulting entities such as heart attacks and stroke, is chlorine. While the study abstract is not available online, if you read his book, Dr. Price reported using chickens as test subjects in one of his studies where two groups of several hundred birds were observed throughout their span to maturity. One group was given water with chlorine and the other without. The group raised with chlorine, when autopsied, supposedly showed some level of heart or circulatory disease in every specimen, yet the group without had no incidence of disease. The group with chlorine under winter conditions showed outward signs of poor circulation, shivering, drooped feathers, and a reduced level of activity. The group without chlorine grew faster, larger, and displayed vigorous health. It would be a common sense conclusion that if regular chlorinated tap water is not good enough for the chickens, then it probably is not good enough for us humans! Chlorine Dangers Today There is a lot of well-founded concern about chlorine. When chlorine is added to our water, it combines with other natural compounds to form Trihalomethanes (chlorination byproducts), or THMs. These chlorine byproducts trigger the production of free radicals in the body, causing cell damage, and are highly carcinogenic. The Environmental Defense Fund warns that, “Although concentrations of these carcinogens (THMs) are low, it is precisely these low levels that cancer scientists believe are responsible for the majority of human cancers in the United States.“ Chlorine is a pesticide and its sole purpose is to kill living organisms. When we consume water containing chlorine, it destroys cells and tissue ins. Between 17 and 50 people have been killed in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, after thousands-strong protests against President Joseph Kabila turned violent. The demonstration against Kabila on Monday attracted thousands of protestors, but clashes with the police and security forces broke out shortly after they began. NGOs and the opposition have accused police of using tear gas to disperse demonstrators before opening fire with live ammunition. As the situation escalated, protestors burned cars and set up barricades in the streets. Police officers also fell victim to the violence, with Reuters reporting that one was set on fire by an angry mob in retaliation for the shooting. The attack was later confirmed by Interior Minister Evariste Boshab. The ACLU of Connecticut is suing state police for fabricating retaliatory criminal charges against a protester after troopers were recorded discussing how to trump up charges against him. In what seems like an unlikely stroke of cosmic karma, the recording came about after a camera belonging to the protester, Michael Picard, was illegally seized by a trooper who didn't know that it was recording and carried it back to his patrol car, where it then captured the troopers' plotting. 'Let's give him something,' one trooper declared. Another suggested, 'we can hit him with creating a public disturbance.' 'Gotta cover our ass,' remarked a third. ACLU affiliates around the country have done a lot of cases defending the right to record in public places, but this case (press release, complaint) is particularly striking. I spoke to ACLU of Connecticut Legal Director Dan Barrett, and he told me about how the incident came about: Our client is a guy who is very concerned with privacy, and who protests DUI checkpoints around the capital region here in Hartford, Connecticut. He feels they're both unconstitutional and a waste of money. He has done public records investigations, for example, and recently found that for every two man hours put into a check point, it yields just one minor traffic citation—almost always for defective equipment. He was well known to the police, who also knew that he is a peaceful privacy and open-carry gun rights activist. Elon Musk is like the real-life Tony Stark from Marvel’s Iron Man films. Just like the billionaire tycoon in the films, Musk also puts money where his mouth is to make outlandish space projects come to life. Just a few days ago he tweeted hints that his top-secret SpaceX mission to Mars may also be capable of going much-much further. If anyone would have the monetary power and capability of colonizing another planet, it would certainly be Musk and his SpaceX project and regular hints and references on Twitter are one way he gets the publicity machine to gather much momentum amongst enthusiasts and experts alike. His latest tweet, hinting at exploration plans going way beyond Mars, is no different. It is now also expected to be the basis of his speech planned at the International Astronautical Congress event in Mexico later this month. Turns out MCT can go well beyond Mars, so will need a new name — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) Sputnik recently spoke to David Baker, the editor of SpaceFlight Magazine and a space exploration veteran, with over 30 years of aerospace industry experience. Talking about commercial space projects such as those led by the likes of SpaceX, Mr. Baker told Sputnik: “The commercial side of space exploration is one that enables the likes of SpaceX to make loud claims around projects such as their mission to Mars plans and even more. But in reality, this can be seen as more bravado and akin to commercial propaganda because the logistics of some of the claims that are made have very complex challenges.” Preview of the interplanetary transport system at — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) Colonization Beyond Mars? There are said to be a number of interplanetary locations that could also be considered for colonization by Musk — or other more unearthly beings even. Earth’s moon, could possibly be conquered as a long-term living space with the right preparations and availability of technology and equipment. Saturn’s largest moon Titan, which is said to have liquid lakes of ethane and methane, also shows the kind of chemistry with the potential to conquer. Whether the smell would be enough to destroy any hopes, it certainly holds possibilities worth exploring. Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, released video and audio clips Monday from the fatal shooting of Terence Crutcher, a stranded and unarmed black motorist. The clips, captured from multiple angles on Friday, show the 40-year-old Crutcher with his hands up before he is stunned with a stungun and then shot by Tulsa officers. Authorities gathered local community leaders — including pastors, state lawmakers and members of Crutcher's family — at Tulsa Police headquarters on Sunday to preview the clips, Ray Owens, a pastor at Metropolitan Baptist Church, said in a phone interview. He was among the 30 people present for the viewing. 'My impression is that the video I saw is among the worst that we have seen nationally,' Owens said. 'The man who was shot was walking away from police with his hands in the air. That, to me, suggests that he did not present a threat.' (Editor's note: This video contains disturbing footage. View with discretion.). Here is another question that has the same answer: who is in charge of destroying economies? Who keeps pushing new economy-destroying trade treaties, like the upcoming TPP? Who is in the business of killing jobs and hope? Who demands that these treaties must be ratified? Who is breathing down Obama's neck, as he stages a last-ditch effort to ratify the TPP and further bury US sovereignty under the weight of global corporations? Who demands that more US jobs disappear overseas and never come back? One group has been virtually forgotten. Its influence is enormous. It has existed since 1973. It's called the Trilateral Commission (TC). Keep in mind that the original stated goal of the TC was to create 'a new international economic order.' In the run-up to his inauguration after the 2008 presidential election, Obama was tutored by the co-founder of the Trilateral Commission, Zbigniew Brzezinski. Four years before birthing the TC with his boss of bosses, David Rockefeller, Brzezinski wrote: '[The] nation state as a fundamental unit of man's organized life has ceased to be the principal creative force. International banks and multinational corporations are acting and planning in terms that are far in advance of the political concepts of the nation state.' Goodbye, separate nations. Any doubt on the question of TC goals is answered by David Rockefeller himself, the founder of the TC, in his Memoirs (2003): 'Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure—one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.' Two separate teams of scientists funded by the Pentagon’s research arm have revealed significant breakthroughs in the field of quantum teleportation which could have a major impact on cybersecurity and encryption. Quantum teleportation is a process by which quantum information can be transmitted from one place to another, and scientists have long sought to prove it is possible. Two separate DARPA-funded studies by physicists based in and, Canada have now confirmed that not only is quantum teleportation a real phenomenon but they also demonstrated that it’s a workable technology that could one day help build an unhackable quantum communication systems to span great distances. 2 DARPA-funded teams have performed over several kilometers of metropolitan fiber networks. — DARPA (@DARPA) However, the breakthrough doesn’t mean that sci fi-style human teleportation is any closer as the photons aren’t actually disappearing from one place and appearing in another. Instead, it’s the information that’s being teleported through a phenomenon called ‘quantum entanglement’, which Albert Einstein called “spooky action at a distance”. According to the strange world of quantum mechanics some particles can be ‘entangled’ meaning that what happens to one particle will immediately affect the other, no matter how far apart they are. Using that property, quantum teleportation instantly transfers the state of one quantum particle to another without sending the particle itself – and without anything physical passing between them. The process is called ‘teleportation’ because the initial message is destroyed and only the information gets teleported from one place to another. The results of both the experiments were published in the scientific journal on Monday. The Canadian and Chinese teams used slightly different methods and generated different results, but they both successfully teleported information across existing optical fib. Billionaire investor George Soros pledged on Tuesday to invest up to $500 million in programs and companies benefiting migrants and refugees fleeing life-threatening situations. Announced against the backdrop of an ongoing United Nations (U.N.) summit in New York, Soros explained that he wished to harness the power of the private sector for public good. 'We will invest in startups, established companies, social impact initiatives, and businesses started by migrants and refugees. These investments are intended to be successful. But our primary focus is to create products and services that truly benefit migrants and host communities,' the 86-year-old said in an official statement. 'I hope my commitment will inspire other investors to pursue the same mission.' Activists in New York’s Union Square rally in support of Native-Americans battling the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline. Two Republican congresspeople are seeking to pass a controversial bill through the U.S. House of Representatives that would seek the first land grab of Native American lands in 100 years, members of the Ute nation have warned. The Utah Public Lands Initiative was proposed by Utah Congressperson Rob Bishop and Jason Chaffetz and seeks to “roll back federal policy to the late 1800s when Indian lands and resources were taken from tribal nations for the benefit of others,” the Ute Business Committee said in an article for the Salt Lake Tribune Saturday. Bishop and Chaffetz will present the bill to the House in few weeks, and if passed it would see 18 million acres of public lands in Eastern Utah downgraded from protected lands and turned into oil and gas drilling zones that are exempted from environmental protections, Think Progress reported earlier this year when the bill was unveiled. “The actions of Bishop and Chaffetz would seek to divest the Ute Indian Tribe of their ancestral homelands,” the committee added while also bringing back “failed policies of tribal land dispossession that have had a devastating and lasting impact upon tribal nations for the past century.” The bill proposes to make more than 100,000 acres of the Ute reservation lands for the state of Utah. “This modern day Indian land grab cannot be allowed to stand,” the committee argued. The nation further slammed the legislators for utterly failing to consult and work with leaders of the Native American community in drafting such a bill when it proposes taking away more than 26 percent of its lands. “Representing more than a quarter of these eastern Utah lands, the tribe should have been a major participant in the development of any bill to address problems in federal land management. We were not,” the committee warned in their article. The news comes as more than 100 Indigenous groups have been organizing major mobilizations against the Dakota Access pipeline which sparked a wave of international solidarity. The US$3.8 billion pipeline would carry shale from the Bakken oil region in North Dakota to oil refineries on the Gulf Coast. The post appeared first on. Russian space agency Roscosmos and top spacecraft manufacturer RSC Energia have begun simulating a manned landing on the moon, using a unique gravity imitation platform. The researchers used Selen, a unique platform simulating the moon's gravity, built by RSC Energia in the early 1970s. The experiments, performed by Mark Serov of Roscosmos' test flight department and Energia's cosmonaut instructor Alexander Kaleri, focused on the cosmonaut's ability to get in and out of the rover as well as walking on the lunar surface. According to the official site of Roscosmos, experts from RSC Energia are also working on an upgraded spacesuit which would allow easier walking on the moon, as well as the ability to get up unaided should the wearer fall down. Washington made another attempt to escalate the conflict in Syria on Saturday. The consequences may be dramatic: the Syrian-Iraqi crisis is turning into the a new World War with a potential nuclear response from Russia or the US. The US air force's attack [on] the pro-government troops of Syria at Deir ez-Zor resulted in 63 soldiers dead, and about 100 wounded. It is important to note that when the US attacks ISIS, the number of dead and wounded people were only ever in the dozens. After these attacks, the ISIS troops started an offensive operation that caused a fierce battle in the regions where humanitarian assistance had been brought. Russia initiated the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. The representative of the Foreign Affair Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that 'we have come to the terrible conclusion that the White House is defending the Islamic State.' Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian teenager who tried to stab a soldier at checkpoint in the occupied West Bank, the army has confirmed. The attempted stabbing is the latest in a recent spate of attacks against Israeli soldiers. The incident occurred at the entrance to Bani Na'im, a village west of Hebron. The area has been security by Israeli forces in recent months, following earlier attacks by Palestinians. According to the army, the attacker approached the checkpoint with a knife, attempting to stab an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier. A BBC journalist who was allegedly fired in large part for prioritizing a report on the anniversary of violence in Sri Lanka over the birth of Prince George has received £51,428 in compensation after suing the news outlet for unfair dismissal. Chandana Keerthi Bandara, 57, was in charge of overseeing the publishing of stories on July 23, 2013 - the day after Prince George was born. However, he said he chose not to prioritize the royal birth, partially because it clashed with the anniversary of Black July - a wave of anti-Tamil violence which led to hundreds of deaths in Sri Lanka in 1983. Although Bandara reportedly resisted pressure from BBC management to cover the story on Prince George, he eventually gave in, the tribunal heard. The article was published online at 12:08 p.m. Bandara, who had worked for the BBC for 18 years, went through disciplinary proceedings and was found guilty of gross misconduct and given a written warning, The Telegraph reported. Police in the are being sued after they allegedly accidentally recorded themselves fabricating charges against a protestor who they subsequently arrested. The American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut has opened a lawsuit against the state police and has published a video recording of the incident in which police are apparently heard coming up with charges against the man. Michael Picard was protesting police check points for drink drivers by standing on a traffic island with a sign that read: “cops ahead, remain silent”. After an hour and a half, it is alleged the police officers from the check point came over and hit his SLR camera out of his hand. The video then begins and the policeman confiscates the camera and walks away, apparently putting it on the roof of the car while three officers debate what to charge Mr Picard with. In the film, voices can be heard making a call to colleagues to see if they have “any grudges” against Mr Picard. One officer says: “We gotta cover our ass”. “We can hit him with reckless use of the highway by a pedestrian and creating a public disturbance,” another suggests. One suggests a combination of “simple trespass, we do reckless use of the highway and creating a public disturbance”, adding, “we’ll throw all charges three on the ticket”. “And then we claim that, in backup, we had multiple people, they didn’t want to stay and give us a statement so we took our own course of action,” another adds. The charges against Mr Picard were eventually dismissed by the state during a criminal prosecution in the Connecticut superior court. The process took over a year and Mr Picard is now suing the police for allegedly fabricating the charges. In, ACLU-CT legal director Dan Barrett, who is representing Mr Picard in the lawsuit said: “Police should be focused on public safety, not punishing protesters and those who film public employees working on a public street. “As the video shows, these police officers were more concerned with thwarting Mr Picard’s free speech and covering their tracks than upholding the law.”. Along with an $8 million plan to add more body cameras, Chicago Police Department Superintendent Eddie Johnson wants to teach officers to de-escalate conflicts. These moves come as the department is under federal investigation. In a news conference Monday, Johnson told reporters that about 12,500 police officers will report to the Chicago Police Academy to receive a two-day training in de-escalation techniques. The training was developed with both policing experts as well as mental health experts. Johnson hopes that this announcement will begin to rebuild the department's relationship with the community, telling the press, 'That's how we build trust.' 'By letting the public know we are doing everything we can to resolve conflicts peacefully,' he added. Police in Linden, New Jersey have arrested Ahmad Khan Rahami, named as the suspect in the multiple explosions in New Jersey and New York over the weekend. Though no one was killed, police are treating the blasts as possible terrorism. Rahami was identified in an unusual alert sent to the general public via mobile devices on Monday morning. The 'Be on the lookout' (BOLO) notice described him as 5'6' tall, driving a 2003 blue Honda Civic with New Jersey license plates. It also identified him as a naturalized US citizen, born in Afghanistan in 1988. Authorities have 'directly linked' Rahami to the Saturday evening blast in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea, as well as a Saturday morning explosion at Seaside Park, New Jersey, minutes before the start of a Marine Corps charity race. He was also linked to the Sunday evening blast at the Elizabeth, NJ train station. The FBI declined to disclose the nature of the connection, citing an ongoing investigation. US President Barak Obama has urged China to do more to tackle the problem of excess industrial capacity. In recent months, China has been criticized of not doing enough to address overproduction, particularly in the steel industry. Chinese firms have also been accused of unfair trade practices in overseas markets such as dumping products at low prices. Earlier this year, the European Union Chamber of Commerce President Joerg Wuttke said, 'Although the Party's annual Central Economic Work Conference has listed addressing overcapacity as a priority every year from 2007 to 2015, fundamental changes have not yet taken place.' In April, Beijing promised to reduce steel output. Bayer and Monsanto finally agreed to say 'I do' September 14, striking a $66-billion deal that Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant tried to sell as a move to improve 'the lives of growers and people around the world.' Wall Street Journal reporter Jacob Bunge painted the news in a different light. Bunge implied that behind the Bayer-Monsanto buyout, a similar proposed merger between Dow and Dupont, and the recently approved ChemChina-Syngenta deal, runs the story of an industry in trouble. 'The dominance of genetically modified crops is under threat,' wrote Bunge on Wednesday. Bunge interviewed a Ohio farmer Joe Logan who told him: 'The price we are paying for biotech seed now, we're not able to capture the returns,' said Ohio farmer Joe Logan. This spring, Mr. Logan loaded up his planter with soybean seeds costing $85 a bag, nearly five times what he paid two decades ago. Next spring, he says, he plans to sow many of his corn and soybean fields with non-biotech seeds to save money. With farmers giving up on biotech seeds, a global public wise to the destruction wrought by poisons like glyphosate (Monsanto) and neonicotinoids (Bayer), and a food industry increasingly under pressure to remove GMO ingredients, the Gene Giants figure all they need to do is get bigger - and more powerful - and they'll be able to use their clout to step up the bullying of farmers, governments, scientists and the media. Donald Trump's running mate asserted that he would be 'a very active vice president' like Cheney, who served under President George W. The governor said that he respected how Cheney channeled his own experiences as a member of the House of Representatives to help push through pieces of legislation. By:| Ladies and gentleman of the jury, the question you must reach a conclusion on before November, is whether Hillary Clinton is either a raging sociopath, or if she’s just an utterly delusional human being. It has to be one or the other; there is no middle ground on this. Once you’ve made your decision, then ask yourselves, “Doesn’t either one make her the last person on earth that should ever hold the office of the President of the United States?” To borrow a quote: “What difference does it make???” Hillary does’t get to have it both ways. On one hand, if she actually believes the things that come out of her mouth, then clearly we know that she sees the world through some type of warped reality, thereby making her delusional. Is that fitting of the President of the United States? On the other hand, if Hillary is aware that every word she utters us a lie, yet continues to do so anyway, then isn’t she a raging sociopath, also making her unfit for the Presidency? Unless I’m missing something, it’s either one, or it’s the other. So, which is it? Ladies and gentleman of the jury, Hillary’s defense would have you believe that Donald and Hillary Clinton merely have a difference of opinion on how things should be done in this country, and everyone in this country is entitled to their own opinion, or political ideology. The latter portion of that defense is true, but that is NOT what is at issue here. People are absolutely entitled to their own opinions or ideologies, but what they are NOT entitled to in this country, nor in any other (we could just say “reality” for short), is there own facts. Hillary cannot seem to grasp that concept. Personally, I stopped li. Palestinian Akram Abu Roka is treated for burns caused by munitions containing white phosphorus used by Israel. The US has admitted to supplying white phosphorus to Saudi Arabia. (AP Photo/Eyad Baba) Amid new evidence that Saudi Arabia has begun to use white phosphorus munitions in their war in Yemen, “in the past.” They declined to say when, or how many weapons were provided. White phosphorus munitions are heavily restricted in their usage under international law, allowed to be used only for smokescreens and signaling, but their incendiary properties and the risk of inhaling the smoke has made their use as an offensive weapon effectively a war crime. The State Department said any country given the munitions was excepted to use them only in accordance with international law, and promised to look into the reports of Saudis improperly using the munitions during the Yemen war, saying the US would take “appropriate corrective action” if this is true. The US has faced growing pressure in recent months over arms sales to Saudi Arabia, as their airstrikes in Yemen have caused massive numbers of civilian casualties. US officials have tried to downplay the matter, so far, but every new disastrous airstrike adds to the calls from international human rights groups for the US to stop abetting the kingdom’s war crimes. His family has told the press that they are heartbroken and that Crutcher had been leaving a class at the community college when his car broke down. Rodney Goss, a pastor at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Tulsa, had viewed the footage on Sunday with the family, as it was released early to community leaders and his relatives. “His hands were in the air from all views,” Goss told the, adding that he was appalled by what he saw. He explained that it appeared that he was seeking help from the officers. “It was not apparent at any angle from any point that he lunged, came toward, aggressively attacked, or made any sudden movements that would have been considered a threat or life-threatening toward the officer,” Goss said. In the audio from the police helicopter, a man can be clearly heard stating that Crutcher had his hands up. “It wasn’t a matter of minutes, it was a matter of moments, where as quick as the officer released the Taser from his hand, Terence was falling to the ground having already been shot,” he said. British intelligence agencies are set to join the fight against modern slavery and human trafficking for the first time, Theresa May announced at the UN General Assembly in New York as she urged world leaders to band together to 'rid the world of this evil.' The heads of MI5, MI6 and GCHQ are setting up a new anti-slavery taskforce, which will begin work next month, May said on Monday night in New York. Both MI6 and GCHQ will be given additional resources to disrupt networks working in countries most involved in the slave trade, such as Albania, Nigeria and Vietnam. Meanwhile, MI5 will work with police within the UK to facilitate evidence gathering and prosecutions against people smugglers and those who benefit from the trade. 'We owe it to the innocent men, women and children who are being tricked into a life of hard labor and abuse to rid our world of this evil,' May said. A financial scam takes place every 15 seconds across Britain, according to Financial Fraud Action (FFA), which says fraudsters are increasingly developing sophisticated tactics to trick people out of their money. FFA says there were more than 1 million cases of card, check, phone or online fraud recorded from January to June. That is a 53 percent rise on the same period last year. Scammers are directly targeting customers through email deception, known as phishing, and phone and text-based scams, known as vishing and smishing. Many are pretending to be from legitimate bodies such as banks, utility companies or customs. Other fraudsters are hacking into email accounts and then posing as the builder, solicitor or tradesperson that the consumer has legitimately employed. A masked man ordered children be evacuated at Eagle Valley Elementary School in Eagle Mountain, Utah, so that 'no one will get hurt.' The threat prompted bomb squad and sniper-armed police to the scene, where evacuations took place. The suspect is in custody, the Utah County Sheriff's Department told KSTU. All children are off the school premises, Assistant to the Superintendent of the Alpine School District Kimberly Bird told KSTU. Bird told the local Fox affiliate that a man wearing a mask entered the school office shortly after 2:00pm, warning, 'Evacuate the kids and no one will get hurt.' Syrian Army Regains Control Over South Aleppo Outskirts With Russian Air Cover The Syrian Army has regained control over the southern outskirts of the Al-Shqaif district in Aleppo. Earlier, al-Nusra Front terrorists had pushed the army out of the area. HMEIMIM (Sputnik) – Syrian government troops with Russian Aerospace Forces backing repelled a terrorist attack in the Al-Shqaif district of northern Aleppo, the Russian reconciliation center for the opposing parties said Tuesday. 'As a result of heavy fighting, Syrian government forces backed by the Russian Aerospace Forces repelled a terrorist attack in the Al-Shqaif district on the northern outskirts and regained control of the southern outskirts of Al-Shqaif on the morning of September 20,' the center said. Earlier, al-Nusra Front terrorists had pushed the army out of the area. “During clashes, the Syrian army destroyed four infantry fighting vehicles, seven pickups with heavy machine guns and up to 40 militants,” the center said in a statement. Plans to deploy more armed police officers to shopping centers and tourist attractions around Britain are being dismissed as an 'anti-terror PR stunt' that overlooks 'proper policing work' needed to combat a terrorism threat. Essex Police and Kent Police both confirmed they will be sending armed police officers geared up with guns and Tasers to sites including Bluewater and Lakeside shopping centers, Canterbury cathedral, the Port of Dover and Southend Airport. The forces stressed there was no intelligence to suggest a direct threat, but said extra patrols would ensure they were 'adequately prepared.' 'We want the public to know what we're doing to protect them and not to panic if they see officers with firearms or Tasers on patrol,' Kent Deputy Chief Constable Paul Brandon said. Glyphosate, the key ingredient in Monsanto Co's Roundup herbicide, is not likely carcinogenic to humans, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said on Friday as it outlined its current position on the controversial chemical. The EPA has been involved in a decades-long process to assess human and animal health risks, as well as ecological risks, of glyphosate. Various agencies around the world have offered conflicting opinions on whether glyphosate causes cancer. The EPA's 'proposed' position on glyphosate was outlined in a 227-page paper it published on the regulations.gov website, which the EPA manages. After reviewing the available data, the paper states, 'The strongest support is for 'not likely to be carcinogenic to humans' at doses relevant to human health risk assessment.' Members of Peace Now, a group opposed to Israeli settlements in the West Bank, had to do a double take when they opened up a gift basket from the US embassy in Tel Aviv, sent ahead of the Jewish New Year. There was a bottle of wine. Made in a West Bank settlement. The wine was a kosher Cabernet Sauvignon from the Zion Winery, in the West Bank settlement of Mishor Adumim, east of Jerusalem. The gift was placed in the basket by a third party vendor from whom the embassy purchased the pre-wrapped presents, a US source told the Jerusalem Post. The baskets were sent to several Israeli organizations ahead of the Rosh Hashanah Jewish New Year, which falls on October 2, but were not checked before distribution. 'We would not have included the wine had we known that it was from the settlements,' US embassy spokeswoman Valerie O'Brien told the newspaper. 'We strongly oppose boycotts targeting the State of Israel, but maintain our long-standing policy that settlements are illegitimate and harmful to the prospects for peace and to Israel's long-term security,' she added. Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus suggested there will be consequences for GOP politicians who fail to get behind presidential candidate Donald Trump. Speaking on CBS's Face the Nation on Sunday, Priebus had harsh words for failed presidential candidates Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and John Kasich, as well as other Republicans who have not endorsed Trump for president. 'We're a private party. We're not a public entity,' Priebus said. 'Those people need to get on board.' 'And if they're thinking they're going to run again someday, I think we're going to evaluate the nomination process, and I don't think it's going to be that easy for them,' he warned. The GOP chairman pointed to the RNC pledge signed by all candidates which promises they will support the candidate who is nominated during the primary season. 'I affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for the President of the United States, I will endorse the Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is,' the beginning of the non-legally binding pledge reads. 'Look, people who agreed to support the nominee, who took part in our process, they used tools from the RNC,' he explained.' They agreed to support the nominee. They took part in our process.' The RNC chairman's statements may not be enough to convince Trump's primary opponents to support their rival, particularly in light of the harsh statements Trump made about them during the primaries. Protestors attend a demonstration against the free trade agreements TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership) and CETA (Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement) in Berlin, Germany, Saturday, Oct. (AP Photo/Markus Schreiber) A globe-spanning but little-known trade deal could be used to lock-in low environmental standards and undermine national efforts to tackle climate change, according to an Energydesk analysis of newly leaked documents. Of The Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) currently being negotiated by fifty countries around the world, including the United States and the EU states. The deal, a spiritual and practical sibling of the much-maligned TTIP and TPP free trade agreements, is designed to drive deregulation across the vast global services sector — increasing international trade in everything from banking to energy services. This leak comes just months after, a move which derailed negotiations and led to European politicians blocking the deal. These documents provide a glimpse at the kind of free trade deals the UK government may be negotiating once it starts to leave the EU. WHAT IS TISA? The Trade In Services Agreement is a treaty designed to facilitate free trade between more than 50 major economies, including the entire Anglosphere and the EU. It could impact the lives of the 1.8 billion people. It covers the services sector, which represents well over half of the global economy. The term ‘services’, however, is vague and could be applied to the trade of certain goods as well. As well as the ‘Energy and Mining Related Services’ this article will cover, TISA would also govern a range of industries — from financial services to e-commerce and technology services. Sovereignty The latest TISA draft contains clauses which, legal experts argue, could undermine the law-making power of participating national governments. The treaty’s ‘stand-still’ and ‘ratchet’ clauses could prevent governments from rolling back on liberalisation policies, even if they are elected on a mandate to do just that. It would also put in place a system that could make it difficult for governments to introduce new regulation, with a dispute panel ruling on whether a proposed action is in fact ‘necessary’. That approach – as employed by the World Trade Organisation – usually ends up blocking new regulations, with only one of the 44 ‘right to regulate’ cases overseen by the WTO ultimately successful. Somehow TISA is also even more secret than the notoriously covert CETA, TTIP and TPP deals, with parties unable to release details of negotiations until five years after it has taken effect. Amid the rise of drones, or small unmanned aerial systems, DARPA, the Pentagon's research arm, is developing technology 'to provide persistent, wide-area surveillance of all UAS operating below 1,000 feet in a large city.' The program, known as Aerial Dragnet, is a new effort by the the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to track and counter small unmanned drones used in crowded urban areas. Though the program is targeted to aid US military forces' ability to 'detect and identify such craft,' the agency indicated last week that the technology will be used in the US. As a comet approaches the Sun, it heats up and begins to outgas, causing jets of gas and dust to erupt from its surface. These jets can sometimes act like tiny rocket engines, spinning up the comet's rotation and loosening chunks of material that drift off into space. Over the span of three days in January 2016, the Hubble Space Telescope captured detailed images of just that scenario happening to Comet 332P/Ikeya-Murakami, or Comet 332P, located roughly 67 million miles from Earth. The Hubble observations revealed 25 building-size blocks made of a mixture of ice and dust that broke off from the comet and are now are scattered along a 3,000-mile-long trail, larger than the width of the continental U.S. The icy chunks comprise about 4 percent of the parent comet and range in size from roughly 65 feet wide to 200 feet wide. They are drifting away from the comet and each other at a few miles per hour, about the walking speed of an adult. See animation here. The Hubble observations also reveal that the comet is much smaller than previously thought, measuring only 1,600 feet across, about the length of five football fields. According to a NASA statement, these observations provide insight into the volatile behavior of comets as they approach the sun, begin to vaporize, and unleash dynamical forces. Comet 332P was 150 million miles from the sun, slightly beyond the orbit of Mars, when Hubble spotted the breakup. Let’s start with a simple chart of the Fed Funds Rate, which the Federal Reserve has pinned near zero for years. This Zero Rate Interest Policy (ZIRP) is the god the PhD economists in the Fed and other central banks worship as the supreme force in the Universe, along with its even more severe sibling god, NIRP (negative interest rate policy), which demands that banks and depositors must pay for the privilege of holding cash. Precisely what have ZIRP and NIRP fixed in the global economy? The short answer is “nothing.” Instead of fixing what’s broken, ZIRP and NIRP have pushed a broken system further along the path of self-destruction. Let’s stipulate that not all economics PhDs are members of the failed Keynesian Cargo Cult Priesthood. A few “professional” economists get it, but they are heretics who are kept far from the priesthood’s temples of power: central banks, central state Treasury departments, major university faculties, etc. The basic problem with the professional priesthood is they believe that their cult is a “real science,” and their “proof” is a bunch of equations that they claim map and predict human behavior. Like the other social sciences, economics suffers from a pathologically obsessive envy of physics, i.e. “real science” that actually predicts the actions of materials and objects in the real world. The truth that the economic priesthood cannot accept is that “economics” is more psychology than physics. Human behavior cannot be reduced down to simple models and equations, as the variables are many and difficult to quantify, and the spectrum of potential responses is too wide. The entire Keynesian Cargo Cult Priesthood boils down to this absurdly wrong-headed model of capital and human psychology: the economy suffers when people “hoard” their earnings. So the goal of the priesthood is to persuade them to stop “hoarding” their cash and force them to spend it. (This spending is known as “aggregate demand” in the priesthood.) The priesthood worships the gods of ZIRP and NIRP because they are believed to force people to spend rather than “hoard.” The ultimate goal of the Keynesian Cargo Cult Priesthood is to force people to borrow more money from banks, as this increases bank profits and boosts “aggregate demand” by tapping future earnings. Taking out a loan brings future demand forward by issuing a claim on future earnings. All of this priestly mumbo-jumbo is of course insane. “Hoarding” is not an evil to be stamped out by the cruel god NIRP who destroys any yield on savings; “hoarding” is the foundation of capitalism, as savings (“hoarding” to the insane) are the capital that is invested in productive assets which generate the wealth that funds wages and taxes. Destroy savings and you destroy productive capitalism. The priesthood’s insane obsession with forcing people to spend their savings by punishing savers with ZIRP/NIRP has failed spectacularly for a simple reason: it completely misunderstands human psychology. Now that ZIRP and NIRP have destroyed the income that was once earned on savings, the only rational response is to save more, not less, despite the priesthood’s policy of negative rates. The priesthood is absolutely blind to another. Obama’s handler Zbigniew Brzezinski, a big-time globalist insider, put the matter rather bluntly by asserting that it was now harder to control, but easier to kill, a million people. Specifically, he said that “new and old powers face” an unprecedented situation; the “lethality of their power is greater than ever”, but, sadly for the NWO globalists, their “capacity to impose control over the politically awakened masses of the world is at a historical low.” Humanity’s consciousness is rising. People are starting to get wise to the deception. The masses are resisting, not complying and fighting back, and this is exactly the kind of behavior that will make it difficult for the Controllers to implement their NWO agenda of a One World Government, backed by a one world currency and army, with a fully microchipped population. Bill Gates, with his wife Melinda, built a foundation that would dispense wealth to the poor: Africa, India and a host of other countries Why was Bill Gates funding India’s poor health sector? A partial but negative answer began to emerge in 2014, when the country’s Supreme Court raised questions about the operations of the foundation in some rural parts of India. In 2009, tribal children from the Khammam district in Andhra Pradesh were administered with a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine meant for cervical cancer. Around 16,000 girls between the age of 9-15 years were given three shots of vaccine, (manufactured by Merck) by the state health department. The girls were told that they were being given “well-being” shots. The incident started getting attention when some months later, several girls’ health deteriorated and the following year, five of them died. Two such similar cases of deaths were reported from Vadodara, Gujarat, where 14,000 tribal children were also vaccinated with the HPV vaccine Cervarix, made by Glaxo SmithKline. Aman Dhawan, 16, from Indore lost weight and stamina after be was enrolled in a trial of vaccine, aimed at preventing cervical cancer. He had no idea he had been signed up for the trial. Around the same time when these incidents were reported, young girls were hospitalised in northern Colombia with similar symptoms. Coincidentally, these girls had been given doses of vaccine too. Skeletons started tumbling out when an NGO visited Andhra Pradesh. Health activists from the NGO Sama visited Khammam in March 2010 and found out that more than 100 girls were having epileptic seizures, stomach aches, headaches and mood swings. The girls also complained about early menstruation, heavy bleeding and menstrual cramps. Sama raised the issue that these students were made guinea pigs on the pretext of providing healthcare. The illiterate parents were kept in the dark about the real vaccine, and most of them gave their consent in the form of thumb prints. A sneaky move by Michigan removed Flint's ability to hold state officials accountable for actions resulting in the city's water supply being laced with lead. The new policy would require the state's permission to be sued, which is unlikely. Mere days after receiving notice from Mayor Karen Weaver about her possible intention to sue Michigan on behalf of the city of Flint, Michigan changed the rules. While Weaver did not have plans to sue the state, she filed her intent to sue so that the door could be open. However, the state-appointed Receivership Transition Advisory Board still controls part of the city's policies. With all of the five members on the board appointed by Michigan Governor Rick Synder (R), the board quickly slammed the door on the lawsuit by requiring their approval for any lawsuits, according to the Detroit Free Press. Just like during the last economic crisis, homeless encampments are popping up all over the nation as poverty grows at a very alarming rate. According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, more than half a million people are homeless in America right now, but that figure is increasing by the day. And it isn’t just adults that we are talking about. It has been reported that that the number of homeless children in this country has risen since the last recession, and says that a total of 1.6 million children slept either in a homeless shelter or in some other form of emergency housing at some point last year. Yes, the stock market may have been experiencing a temporary boom for the last couple of years, but for those on the low end of the economic scale things have just continued to deteriorate. Tonight, countless numbers of homeless people will try to make it through another chilly night in large tent cities that have been established in the heart of major cities such as Seattle, Washington, D.C. Homelessness has gotten so bad in California that the L.A. City Council has formally asked Governor Jerry Brown. And in Portland the city has extended their “homeless emergency”, and city officials are really struggling with how to deal There have always been homeless people in Portland, but last summer Michelle Cardinal noticed a change outside her offi. A well-equipped Syrian rebel using a US-made BGM-71 TOW on the Syrian Arab Army. (Photo YouTube Screenshot) has revealed that the agency was knowingly providing weapons, including tow missiles to fighters that were effectively part of al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front, continuing to arm “moderates” so long as they at least nominally kept their moderate names. The report reveals that the vetting process amounted to little more than checking the names of fighters they were given against outdated terrorist databases, and that often they didn’t even have real names to check in the first place. It was in this way that the “moderate” Free Syrian Army (FSA) started getting arms in the first place. But as the war continued, the FSA fighters were defecting en masse to the Nusra Front. Even being directly affiliated with al-Qaeda’s affiliate didn’t stop the arms flow to these groups, either, so long as they retained their FSA name so the CIA could feign arming “moderates.” The report concludes that the FSA was quickly becoming a cover name for Nusra, a fact which apparently didn’t phase the CIA, which was just as eager to use this pretense, so long as they were arming a group that was fighting against the Syrian government. This has been a, as they were entirely Assad-centric, and dismissive of fighting against ISIS. It quickly put them at cross-purposes with the Pentagon, whose own operations were focused on ISIS, and oftentimes saw the CIA undermining their efforts. This new understanding of the FSA also explains of the Syrian town of al-Rai by US-backed and Turkey-backed FSA fighters threatening to “slaughter” them as infidels. Turkey has long been seen as cozy with Nusra anyhow, and likely didn’t care about the connections, while the FSA fighters, who were fine taking weapons from the CIA, rightly saw the US troops as a different force entirely, and one with a significantly different agenda. Crude prices continued to fall on Tuesday as Venezuela announced global supply needs to be cut 10 percent to meet demand. 'Global production is at 94 million barrels per day (bpd), of which we need to go down 9 million barrels per day to sustain the level of consumption,' Venezuela's Oil Minister Eulogio Del Pino said in an interview with state oil company PDVSA. Del Pino is also the company's president. Oil prices fell half-a-percent on Tuesday on renewed concerns over global oversupply. The North Sea Brent benchmark crude slipped to $45.67 per barrel and US WTI slid to $43.07, as of 9:00am GMT. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia keeps upping production. The kingdom pumped 10.6 million barrels per day in July, up 120,000 bpd from the previous month. There's no official data on Saudi production in August, but Reuters reports it's expected to fall slightly. The truth is the rich are getting richer and everyone else is losing ground as inflation chews through stagnant incomes. Supporters of the status quo nearly wet their pants with joy when the Census Bureau reported that real (adjusted for inflation) median household income rose 5.2% between 2014 and 2015. Too bad it was completely bogus: the supposed increase in everyone's income is pure statistical trickery. First, the marks who fell for it: here's the Huffington Post wetting itself with glee: Average Americans Just Got a Huge Income Boost. This headline is risibly wrong on a number of counts. Most importantly, a notch up in median household income doesn't mean 'average Americans Just Got a Huge Income Boost': It means that half of households in 2015 earned more than $56,516 and half earned less than $56,516. It does not mean every household saw a boost in income. Calling into question why Wells Fargo was only recently fined $185 million for fraudulently opening more than 2 million accounts, the US Senate is now hearing reports that employees and customers blew the whistle on the Wall Street bank's illegal activity several years ago. After settling with regulators for $185 million over signing up its customers for more than 2 million accounts without their knowledge and subsequently charging them fees, Wells Fargo became the focus of a Senate Banking Committee hearing on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. White-collar criminologist William Black told the Real News that the hard work exposing the bank's practices was 'done by the customers, by the employees and by Los Angeles County, that bought the suit in 2015, building on these whistleblowers.' 'You see almost no credit for that, in the coverage,' said Black, associate professor of economics and law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 'Instead these federal agencies held absolutely not a single individual accountable, there were no admissions, there was absolutely no admissions in the settlement agreement. So this settlement agreement, principally negotiated by the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) is disgustingly weak.' This whole situation keeps getting worse and worse. It seems to be growing by the day. When Colonial Pipeline originally announced the leak, it was reported that a mere 1,000 barrels of gas had leaked, or said another way, approximately 45,0000 gallons. It was then increased to 250,000 gallons – more than a 5 fold increase. Now it has reached more than an 8 fold increase from the original estimate. Do they actually know how much damage has been done and do they know how much gas has leaked out? 9 break has leaked 6,000 barrels (approximately 250,000 gallons) of fuel into Shelby County, Alabama, the operator, up from its original estimation of 1,000 barrels. The cause of the leak is currently unclear. The more I dig into this gas pipeline leak situation the worse it gets. As we the Colonial Pipeline that pumps gasoline from Houston, Tx to southern New York state became damaged on Friday September 9, 2016. Major news sources didn’t begin reporting this incident until Tuesday, September 13, 2016 and national news services first reported on it beginning Friday September 16, 2016 a full week later. Somewhere between regional news and national news coverage of a 250,000 gallon leak in south central Alabama the governors of Alabama and Georgia there is a state of emergency. The leak is outside Birmingham, Al and the gas would have some area to cover to reach Georgia. So far this whole situation is beginning to smell funny and it’s not just the gas fumes. As reported by A section of the Colonial Pipeline, which runs from Houston to New York, has been closed since Sept. 9 after a spill of roughly 250,000 gallons was discovered in rural Shelby County, Ala. AUSTIN, Texas — The Dakota Access pipeline is just one of several major fossil fuel projects underway as part of U.S. Efforts to dominate the global energy market and crash the oil-dependent economies of American nemeses like Venezuela and Russia. On Monday, a federal charge officially, the site of a massive protest against the Dakota Access pipeline led by the Standing Rock Sioux, who have been joined by hundreds of other Native American tribes and indigenous groups. Elsewhere, however, expansion of U.S. Fossil fuel infrastructure continues. Winona LaDuke, a respected Native American activist and executive director of, put the Dakota Access pipeline and others like it into international perspective during a July 12 interview with. LaDuke explained: “[I]t also has to do with crushing Venezuela, because Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world. And rather than do business with Venezuela, they were bound and determined to take oil from places that did not want to give it up, and create this filthy infrastructure.” In order to reduce its dependence on South American and Middle Eastern oil, the United States is turning to domestic energy sources that are especially toxic to the environment. LaDuke continued: “So, this carbon—this oil is very heavy in carbon and will add hundreds of millions of tons of CO2 to the environment, if these pipelines are allowed through. So, that is—you know, it affects everybody.” A recent. The shocking incident occurred in broad daylight and was caught on security cameras. A young woman was stabbed 22 times, resulting in her death in the streets by her older stalker. The shocking incident raises questions about the safety of women in Delhi and what steps the government is taking to protect them. The suspected murderer, Surendar Singh, was reported to have been harassing the victim, Karuna, 21, for some time and was enraged after seeing a picture of the girl with another boy. 'Karuna aged 21 years was stabbed by Surendar Singh, age 34. Deceased was a teacher at Novel Reaches School. He claims that he was in affair with this girl and today he saw some compromising pics sent by girl to another boy and that made him angry,' reads a statement issued by the police. The most appalling part of the crime is that no onlooker dared to come to the help of the victim, letting her die on the streets. Delhi is notorious for crimes against women and incidents of harassment and rape are not uncommon. The elections to the Duma accurately reflect voting in the country. The elections confirm overwhelming support for Vladimir Putin and the government, and prove that Russia's 'liberal opposition' is no more than a fringe group. Though there are still a few votes to count, the results of the Duma elections are no longer expected to change, and are as follows: United Russia, Russia's governing party, has won 54.21% of the vote. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation came second with 13.53% of the vote, and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) of Vladimir Zhirinovsky came in third place with 13.28% of the vote. The social democratic A Just Russian party gained 6.19% of the votes. No other party overcame the 5% threshold for entry into the Duma in the half of the Duma elected by the proportional representation/party list system. Manhattan, Kansas is in the news due to a mysterious illness sweeping through schools and making hundreds of children ill. Natural Blaze reports: Symptoms include the necessity to go home due to stomach issues like nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. At first, officials thought it was norovirus (highly contagious stomach flu). Indeed, the media reports and officials were certain it was norovirus and a major outbreak had practically downed a Nevada school last year. However, as the sickness continues, this idea has been abandoned even though it spreads in a similar manner. Additionally, some of the symptoms are not consistent among all the students. For instance, the middle and elementary students began contracting the sickness, but unlike the high schoolers, they are reporting fever as well. Last Friday, the high school principal issued a desperate plea for the sick students to provide stool samples to the health department. As sorry as I feel for the children involved, this type of mystery illness is nothing to what may be waiting for them in the future due to the last reason that Manhattan, Kansas made headlines. Ankara plans to clean the northern Syrian cities of Manbij and al-Bab from Daesh militants soon and create safe zones there, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Tuesday. On August 24, Turkish forces, backed by US-led coalition aircraft, began a military operation dubbed Euphrates Shield to clear the Syrian border town of Jarablus and the surrounding area of Daesh, outlawed in Russia and many other countries. On Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Jarablus had been cleansed of Daesh, and Turkey planned to defeat the jihadists in al-Bab. 'This is what we have been asking at every meeting — without ground operation, you cannot defeat this bloody terrorist organization. [We plan] to make this area, Manbij, a safe zone, and to clean Daesh from this region, al-Bab should be the next target. But Raqqa is the kind of capital of Daesh in Syria, and Mosul is their capital in Iraq, they have to be defeated in those main two cities, as well,' Cavusoglu told CNN. Then, it seemed to vanish. While the star could just be hiding behind a wall of dust, new observations with the, reported online September 6 at arXiv.org,. But multiple lines of evidence have recently hinted that not all heavyweights go out with a bang. Some stars might skip the supernova and collapse into a black hole. With no party yet found responsible for the alleged airstrike on the humanitarian aid convoy west of Aleppo, which killed several Syrian Red Crescent volunteers, the US State Department was quick to vent its outrage, blaming Damascus and Moscow for the attack. A joint UN and Syrian Red Crescent (SARC) 31-truck humanitarian convoy delivering aid was bombed in five alleged airstrikes while offloading supplies in the Syrian town of Urm al-Kubra. At least 18 vehicles were hit, according to the UN. Comment: According to media reports, the convoy was hit by airstrikes or mortar fire after offloading aid. As result of the attack, the mission's chief and several other workers suffered severe injuries, a witness told Reuters. The convoy was carrying humanitarian cargo to some 78,000 civilians stranded in the war-stricken town. While no party has claimed responsibility for the attack, pro-rebel groups rushed to blame the incident on government forces, claiming it was either a Syrian or a Russian warplane that carried out the strike. You are its witness, detached and free of its illusions. Disregard any opinion as soon as it appears. RV is the practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen target using subjective means, in particular, extrasensory perception (ESP) or “sensing with mind”. The strange thing about RV, is that this is an actual practice, which has also been used in military experiments such as The Stargate Project. From Wikipedia: The Stargate Project was a secret US Army unit established in 1978 in, Maryland, by the (DIA) and (a California contractor) to investigate the potential for phenomena in military and domestic intelligence applications. The Project, and its precursors and sister projects, went by various code names — GONDOLA WISH, GRILL FLAME, CENTER LANE, SUN STREAK, SCANATE — until 1991 when they were consolidated and rechristened as “Stargate Project”. Stargate Project work primarily involved, the purported ability to psychically “see” events, sites, or from a great distance. The project was overseen until 1987 by Lt. The concentration and centralization of the agro-business multi-nationals advances with gigantic strides: Potash Corp and Agrium have combined into a $30 billion monopoly over the world fertilizer market. Dow Chemical and DuPont combine in a $130 billion dollar deal in the seed and agricultural chemicals sector. ChemChina prepares to take over Syngenta in a $44 billion acquisition. Bayer is preparing to buy out Monsanto for $56 billion and further concentrate control over worldwide seed and chemical markets. A quarter of a trillion dollars worth of mergers and acquisitions is poised to concentrate control of global agriculture prices, profits and markets in four directorates. Parallel to the corporate capitalist drive for world domination, the White House has embarked on a full-scale trade and maritime war against China. This essay presents the political and social implications of the agro-business counter-revolution and the concomitant US drive to encircle and enclose China’s market. Agro-Business Monopolies and Social Revolution This process of agri-business monopolization will have a major impact on farmers, consumers and environmentalists worldwide. Seed and fertilizer prices will rise, devastating farmers’ income and resulting in ever more bankruptcies. Nitrogen and potash, the two biggest fertilizer inputs for farmers, will be controlled by a monopoly cartel. Farmers will have no choice – either market response or political struggle. In other words, they can try to raise food prices or organize a revolt against the cartels. In the imperial countries, national populist movements have emerged, especially in the countryside, small towns and cities: farmers, ecologists and consumers take to the streets while urban mass opposition, responding to rising food costs, are gaining momentum. Throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America, the agro-business control of chemical and seed inputs raises the debt burden on peasants and farmers while contaminating food with pesticides and provoking food riots and land occupation movements. The impact of food insecurity, including debt and malnutrition, undermines community and family cohesion. This is the context in which armed insurgents have emerged, including the Islamist movements in the Middle East, North Africa and West Asia, gaining credibility and followers among the millions of dispossessed. In response, the agri-business multinational corporations have reduced the question of popular resistance to one of ‘political stability’, pushing for repressive state terror to suppress revolts. The Western mass media never discusses the linkage between the monopolization of agriculture and mass exploitation with armed popular resistance. Agro-business leaders claim that mass rebellion is merely a product of ‘ideology’ promoted by deranged extremists on the left or violent jihadis. The roots of revolt and upheaval are not analyzed or even described in the narrative of respectable financial newspapers in their “ Companies and Markets” section. Global monopolization of agriculture depends on state deregulation, privatization, and the systematic policies of blaming any political opposition on ‘outside’ hostile forces. If the opponents are not ‘Islamists’ or communists, they are unfair competitors, who do not ‘play by market rules’ and rely on state subsidies. Trade Wars for Monopoly Agriculture The Obama regime has launched a full-scale agricultural war against China, imposing tariffs, promoting WTO boycotts and intensifying its ideological war. Obama’s Department of Agriculture, (which provides massive direct and indirect subsidies to the enormous US agro-industry), denounces China for subsidizing it basic food producers. Obama attacks China for ‘unfair competition’ even as US MNCs earned $20 billion in agro exports to Beijing in 2015 alone!. (AP Photo) MINNEAPOLIS — The same U.S. Military think tank responsible for the initial development of the internet is now turning its sights to the skies as it researches ways to track drones. 13, DARPA, or the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, published from tech firms capable of developing an “Aerial Dragnet” program to conduct “persistent, wide-area surveillance of small unmanned aerial systems (UASs) in urban terrain on a city-wide scale.” In other words, DARPA wants to equip the military with a system which would allow it to track every drone in an urban area, especially in combat zones., a defense technology writer at Popular Science, noted on Sept. 13 that DARPA hopes to overcome a major limitation in current systems for tracking aircraft: “There is no good way to track the drones in the sky. Passenger airplanes and helicopters report their flights to air traffic control, and even if they didn’t, the vehicles are large and show up easily on radar, making it possible to keep an eye on them over land. Drones, especially commercial or hobbyist drones, are small enough to appear like birds on radar.” Currently, tracking drones is mostly done visually, which has obvious limitations., writing on Sept. 15 for Engadget, explained that the “Aerial Dragnet” program would likely use its own drones to track others. Dalton wrote: “DARPA’s plan would include a network of surveillance nodes that can track slow, low-flying drones without the need for a direct line of sight. Those nodes could be anything from a fixed instrument to a tethered or ‘long endurance’ drone and the whole thing is meant to be cost-effective and highly scalable for larger coverage areas.”. Medill DC (CC BY 2.0) Threads by a user asking for advice on how to “strip out a VIP’s (VERY VIP) email address from a bunch of archived email” on the popular website reddit may point to Paul Combetta, the tech specialist involved in the Hillary Clinton email scandal. US News has compiled the reddit requests in question, linking them to important dates in the investigation into Clinton’s emails. An army of reddit users believes it has found evidence that former Hillary Clinton computer specialist Paul Combetta solicited free advice regarding Clinton’s private email server from users of the popular web forum. A collaborative investigation showed a reddit user with the username stonetear requested help in relation to retaining and purging email messages after 60 days, and requested advice on how to remove a “VERY VIP” individual’s email address from archived content. The requests match neatly with publicly known dates related to Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state. The House Oversight Committee in charge of the Clinton investigation is now looking into these claims, according to The Hill. The House Oversight Committee is reviewing a Reddit post that alleges an IT specialist who worked on Hillary Clinton’s private server sought advice on how to alter the contents of “VERY VIP” emails, according to Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.). Meadows is the chairman of the panel’s Government Operations subcommittee. “The Reddit post issue and its connection to Paul Combetta is currently being reviewed by OGR staff and evaluations are being made as to the authenticity of the post,” Meadows told The Hill. Reddit users appear to have uncovered a two-year-old post from an account believed to belong to Combetta, an engineer with Platte River Networks. The Denver, Colo.-based firm managed Clinton’s private server. The post, which has been deleted but can be read in images archived by Reddit users, coincides with the discovery of Clinton’s use of the server. Platte River Networks has been contacted by US News journalist Steven Nelson, but has responded by stating, “Right now we are respectfully declining all media inquiries.” — Posted by Natasha Hakimi Zapata. Editor’s Note: And this would be what the terror attacks here are meant to draw America’s attention away from? Aleppo — Plagued by problems from the, the latest ceasefire between the U.S.-backed rebels and the pro-Assad Syrian military in Aleppo is officially over, Reuters Monday. Assessing the problems in American public education and academia elicits standard responses that are generally trite and multitude. “Lack of funding,”, or “adequately trained teachers,” often round out the usual replies, yet system-generated solutions to the perceived problems are always external in nature (especially given the problems are themselves system-generated). The diagnosis of the causes are also consistently external, leading to endless debates over appropriation and methodology, ever and always overlooking the actual problem, that academia as an institution no longer functions the way most perceive it. The very presupposition of the modern debates over education are precisely concerned with how to fix a “broken system,” yet I propose the system is functioning perfectly as it was intended: The goal of public education and academia is not education, but socialization and Pavlovian social engineering. Not only has the State Department ignored Colin Powell’s revelation Israel has two hundred nukes, so has the establishment media. After DCLeak posted a tranche of Powell emails hacked from the former secretary of state’s personal Gmail account, RT’s Caleb Maupin asked the State Department for comment on Powell’s mention of Israel’s nukes. He was ignored. Meanwhile, the story has been virtually ignored by the media. The Sun in Britain reported on it, as did The Times of Israel and Haaretz in Israel, but The New York Times and The Washington Post have remained silent. The March 3, 2015, email to Powell business associate and Democrat donor Jeffrey Leads also questions if North Korea is, in fact, testing nuclear weapons. “Anyway, Iranians can’t use one if they finally make one. The boys in Tehran know Israel has 200, all targeted on Tehran, and we have thousands. As [Iranian President Mahmoudin Ahmedinejad said], ‘What would we do with one, polish it?’ I have spoken publicly about both [North Korea] and Iran. We’ll blow up the only thing they care about—regime survival. Where, how would they even test one?” The release of the email followed a March visit to the United States by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He addressed a joint session of Congress on the supposed nuclear threat posed by Iran. Netanyahu was invited to speak by Republicans who did not consult with the White House. “Let me be frank. The speech by Netanyahu was the speech of a demagogue. And from the outset he spoke of Persians attacking Jews millennia ago. This is a sort of a religious fanaticism that is a parallel with the religious fanaticism of Islamic fundamentalists who engage in terrorism. In fact Israel has bombed many neighbors in the Middle East,”, the Director of the Institute for Public Accuracy, told RT on March 4. Not only has Israel bombed its neighbors, it has also used its nuclear arsenal to blackmail the United States. In 1991 the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh published The Samson Option: Israel’s Nuclear Arsenal an American Foreign Policy. The book reveals how a nuclear warhead was developed in an underground facility in the Negev Desert in the 1960s with technology acquired from France. During the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Israel blackmailed Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon. It threatened to use a nuclear weapon against Egypt and Syria during the war if the United States did not ship ammunition and spare parts. “It was nuclear blackmail, but it worked,” writes. “President Richard Nixon was enraged by the Israeli atomic ultimatum, and at Secretary of State Henry Kissinger’s strategy, described by then–U.S. Defense Secretary James Schlesinger as allowing Israel to come out ahead but making sure it bled. ‘By the evening of October 9th,’ Kissinger wrote in his memoir, ‘Israel had been assured [by the U.S.] that its war losses would be made up. Relying on this assurance, it stepped up its consumption of war materiel,’ as dozens of U.S. C-5 and C-141 cargo planes began roaring into Tel Aviv’s airport with replacement tanks, missiles and spares.” Israel has routinely betrayed the United States. By Justin Gardner Orange County, CA – Annabelle Lockwood makes the best homemade lemonade around Fountain Valley. Using her grandma’s recipe, a homemade stand built by her father and a lot of passion, she serves the gourmet refreshments – classic or pink lemonade, and flavors like peach, blueberry ginger and watermelon – to eager customers and charitable events. But her passion is being tested by the regulatory hand of the State. Annabelle’s “small business” and gave her 30 days to get the proper permit and license. The permit will cost around $200, but in order to secure the permit Annabelle will have to meet a bevy of government requirements – costing $3,500 – just to serve fresh-squeezed fruit juices to thirsty passersby. According to the set up by the Lockwood’s to help meet this financial burden levied by the State: “ 1. She needs to upgrade her cart to get it up to commercial standards, in order to pass the inspection. She needs to make the lemonade in a licensed facility. Licensed kitchens require: Liability insurance, a business license, a deposit and an hourly or monthly fee for use. She needs commercial grade dispensers and bottles.” The family has received enormous support after media began telling Annabelle’s story, but in the meantime she has had to “turn down a wedding, corporate events, movies in the park and church events,” according to. Annabelle had previously set up her stand to help charities such as children’s cancer research and homeless services, but that was put on hold pending government permitting. “This isn’t just another business venture it’s becoming a life lesson for a young ambitious entrepreneur. She will be able to do so much more in the community as well as at charity and school events to help others. She’s extremely passionate about her business, and we are so proud of her for creating something that so many others can enjoy!” It’s turning out to be a hard and fast lesson in how government requirements on business – many of which play no role in protecting people or the environment – put a heavy, unnecessary burden on aspiring entrepreneurs. Revenue collection is often the only driver of government permits and licenses. Bearing down on the age-old tradition of youngsters setting up lemonade stands demonstrates how obsessed the State has become in “regulating” small business. It appears that Annabelle made it through the gauntlet, with the help of many who donated to her GoFundMe account after reading her story. Others are not so fortunate, though. In Portland, Ore. An from their farm at a holiday market to help her dad pay for her braces, which cost $5,000. But the Parks Bureau refused to let her set up without a permit, lease or concession agreement. She was told she could beg instead. How to stage a bioterror attack by Jon Rappoport September 20, 2016 (To read about Jon’s mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed,.) “Dr. Hognose Detrick of the US Biological Warfare Group waddled into a meeting room, where a collection of Army, CIA, NSA, and CDC representatives sat quietly in their chairs. He said: ‘So I understand you boys want to put on a little domestic bioterror show. Well, the first thing you need to know is, germs don’t obey orders. Forget all that sci-fi nonsense. Germs work and they don’t work. It’s a crapshoot. You could have a big fat dud on your hands. I can tell you how to make it work, though, if you give up on your fancy high-tech wet dreams” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport) First of all, there is an ongoing operation that resembles the subject of this article. It’s called Zika, It’s a virus that causes nothing, and the correlation between its presence and the birth defect called microcephaly is so weak it’s absurd. But the powers-that-be at the CDC and the World Health Organization are using Zika to conceal a quite real chemical threat,, a pesticide which is being sprayed in Miami to kill mosquitoes that “carry Zika.” Naled can cause birth defects. Likewise, the apparent temporary spike in microcephaly in Brazil is being blamed on Zika. But the real agents are far more likely to be the TDaP vaccine, which was recommended for all pregnant women in Brazil in 2014, and various pesticides. The germ is the cover story for chemical destruction. In general, the primary fact is: no matter what kind of germ you’re talking about or where it came from, releasing it intentionally does not guarantee predictable results. For instance, people whose immune systems are at different levels of strength are going to react differently. The perpetrators may find that less than 1% of people exposed get sick. But there is another strategy that should be understood: Again: the use of a germ as a cover story for a chemical. In other words, there is no germ attack. It’s called a germ attack, but that’s a lie. The perps bring in researchers to the affected area, who go on to claim they have isolated a germ that is the cause of death and illness. What really happened was the spread of a toxic chemical that can’t be detected, unless you’re looking for it. The chemical has severe, deadly, and predictable effects for a week or two. Then it disperses and loses potency and the “epidemic” is done. In some town, a fairly isolated community, or even in a city, the word goes out that people are suddenly falling ill and dying. The CDC and the Army are called in to cordon off the area and quarantine all citizens. A peremptory announcement is made, early on, that this is a biowar attack. Major media are allowed outside the periphery. Network news anchors set up on-location and do their wall to wall broadcasts “from the scene.” The entire nation, the entire world is riveted on the event, 24/7. People inside the cordon fall ill and die. Reports emerge from the town: The networks state that “heroic doctors are taking samples of blood and the blood is being analyzed to find the germ that is causing the epidemic.” The DoD confirms over and over that this is, indeed, a biowar attack. Much less has been said about a the deadly military campaign waged by US ally, and generous Clinton Foundation donor, Saudi Arabia, which on March 26, 2015 began carrying out airstrikes in Yemen and imposing an aerial and naval blockade on the country, allegedly in response to requests for assistance from the contested government of president Manusur Hadi, who asked for help to quell an uprising by Houthi forces loyal to former president Ali Saleh, who had been deposed in the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings. Central Banks Gold Diversification Ongoing – “Sensible Precaution” by John Stepek, Editor of Money Week Central banks have got the economy and markets covered. They know what they’re doing. Their theories are backed up by decades of academic research and expert advice. Queen Elizabeth inspecting gold bars in Bank of England. Source: Money Week Expert advice, as we all know, is completely apolitical, changes rarely, and never, ever does a complete U-turn, like – I don’t know – telling us all to start eating butter after years of telling us not to, or something crazy like that. So why worry? I mean, what kind of deluded neurotic doom-monger would keep hanging onto gold (as insurance, of all things!) in their portfolio with people of this calibre in charge? Well, I hate to break this to you, but Guess who’s buying lots of gold? Central banks are piling into gold. They have been ever since the financial crisis blew up in 2008. In fact, says a new report from the OMFIF (Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum) research group, central banks have been buying gold at a rate of 350 tonnes a year for the last eight years. That takes us back to the sorts of levels we saw in the pre-1970 era. OMFIF has looked at central bank behaviour and gold buying going back over more than a century (back to 1871, in fact). It’s broken it down into seven “ages of gold’. There’s some interesting stuff in there, but I’ll only go back as far as post-World War II this morning, as that’s the most relevant to today’s topic. So the fourth age of gold – 1945 to 1973 – covers the Bretton Woods era, during which gold reserves were rising, notes David Marsh of OMFIF, “with European countries and Japan amassing sizeable new post-war holdings as central banks exchanged surplus dollars for gold from the US Treasury”. Indeed, between 1950 and 1965, central banks and treasuries bought up more than 7,000 tonnes of gold. Dear ones, this is Anica speaking with you today. I come from far away in time and space to meet with you now. Wherever we are, together in this moment, we are meeting. In this moment, I have one thing to bring to your attention, as the days are grinding into a new form in which time will take less of a battering from the activity in your world and will become more of a conduit through which you will pass from chaos into a new world, one that is without the structures and limitations, the clouds and the darkness that have overshadowed with greater increasing presence on your psyche in the past lifetimes, as you have known it. Where are you going now, people of Earth? You are on your way already, and you have made decisions that have employed various methods of expression, physical, quite audible whispers from your soul into a night that seems empty but for some bit of an ear to hear you your wishes. Know that you are heard, even in your silence. We currently face a monumental dilemma. How do we extract ourselves from all this excessive debt without crashing the world economy? There is a solution which is totally counterintuitive: print even more money. In other words, to get out of the deep, deep hole we are in, dig even deeper. It is called. With a stroke of a pen, money would be substituted for debt, without the negative consequences of printing money. Banking would be restructured so that it never again leads to boom and bust cycles, and most debt, public and private, could be cancelled. It’s basically a “one time” get out of jail card for the world economy. Back then, economists realized that it was the rapid expansion and contraction of credit, not driven by fundamentals of the real economy, which created most booms and busts. This is because banks can make a loan and then finance it out of thin air, through the fractional reserve banking system- something no other business can do. Of course, central banks adding unnecessary liquidity aggravated the problem and made the boom and bust cycles worse. An essential feature of all the different Chicago plans is that it would require banks to hold 100% reserves against deposits. Currently, banks in the U.S. Normally are required to hold between 0 and 10 percent reserves against deposits. According to the Chicago plan, banks would be required to exchange their assets for enough money to bring their reserves up to 100%. It is basically an asset swap, with the government exchanging cash for almost all the banks private and public debt. This new money in the banking system just sits there since banks have a new 100% reserve requirement, so there are no inflationary consequences of all this new printing. On the Chicago plan estimates that government could cancel the entire government debt held by banks and over $15 trillion of private debt! Irvin Fisher, a Yale economist whom Milton Friedman called America’s greatest economist, said that the plan would greatly reduce the severity of business cycles, probably eliminating booms and busts. Bank runs would be impossible, making deposit insurance unnecessary, and it would greatly reduce the amount of public and private debt. The IMF paper using state of the art economic modeling concluded that Dr. Fisher was right, and that the plan would be even more beneficial. Real GDP growth would initially surge by 10% resulting from the elimination of many distortions. Many Austrians would normally cringe at such a plan since it implies massive government intervention and the strengthening, although temporarily, of government influence on the economy. This, however, can be viewed as one of the few legitimate roles for governments: enforcing property rights. Fractional reserve banking is fraud (see and ) since it generates multiple claims to the same real resources or goods and services. The Chicago plan would simply be taking ill-gotten gains away from the counterfeiters. So by extension, America now loves Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), which is the new home of Thursday-night National Football League (NFL) action. A day after the first game was live-streamed, Twitter stock (TWTR) jumped 4.4%. The event was widely celebrated as a success, but I’m not sure that Twitter stock bears are too happy about it. They kept saying TWTR stock had nowhere to go but down, yet this recent success suggests exactly the opposite. Live-streaming popular. The post appeared first on. On September 18, 2016, Frankie Lucena of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, photographed an enormous 'A-bomb' sprite over the Caribbean Sea. These rank as the largest type of sprite in both horizontal and vertical dimensions. And for a split-second, the sky lit up like this: This type of sprite is often called 'jellyfish' or 'A-bomb,' and ranks as the largest type of sprite in both horizontal and vertical dimensions. It consists of a bright halo approximately 85 km above Earth's surface surrounding sprite elements with long tendrils reaching down as low as ~30 km above ground level. This kind of sprite tends to be triggered by a very impulsive positive cloud-to-ground flash. But curiously, Lucena did not observe an instigating lightning bolt, but, Instead, just before the sprite appeared, he recorded a bright point-like flash of light. North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal near India is about as different as the Island of Manhattan as possible, though it is approximately the same size. While the inhabitants of Manhattan’s most densely populated city, New York, scurry from a taxi cab to their as office clerks, janitors, secretaries, cashiers, and nannies for the, a mysterious tribe of Sentinalese people live within a 3-mile exclusion zone to prevent anyone from getting close enough to see how they live. While New York City is crawling with people, it is thought that a most of the Sentinalese, and that there are a mere 50-400 people of this secretive tribe remaining. The inhabitants of North Sentinel are so protective of their way of life, that any attempt to study or contact them is met with fierce violence. They refuse to be integrated into the modern way of life. One of the earliest accounts of outside contact with the island, in 1896, reveals that an Indian convict escaped prison and washed up on the island’s shores. He was found just a few weeks later with his throat cut and arrows protruding through his head. In the 1980s a occurred on the island. The Sentinalese tried to invade the ship to take its cargo, and many were killed by the men aboard. Most recently, two people were killed when they were illegally fishing for crabs, and their boat drifted onto overnight. When a helicopter attempted to retrieve the bodies of the fishermen, the helicopter was shot down with arrows. Only one Indian anthropologist has been able to contact them and reportedly spent 24 years trying to gain their trust with bribes of coconuts and iron bits in order to learn how they live. All he was able to discern is that they are likely not cannabilstic, as previously assumed, with few other details filling in the gaps. It was discovered, that they know how to use fire, but hide it jealously, because they don’t know how to make it. Their arrows are forged from iron taken from shipwrecks, and they are consummate marksmen. They smear their deep ebony-toned skin with white or ochre as a. It is also thought that their songs contain only two notes and that they can only count to two. Anything above this number they simply call, “many.” They have no community structure, with no ‘chiefs,’ and no ‘witch doctors.’ Because the Sentinalese have shot arrows and thrown rocks at almost any plane that tries to land there, even if delivering food or other ‘aid,’ the government has banned travel and allows the tribe to live as they see fit. It is estimated that the Sentinalese tribe lives as people did more than 15,000 years ago – well before the infiltration of human life with artificial intelligence, the nanny state, endless technologically gizmos, dysfunctional social structures, and more ‘stuff’ ‘than any of. These efforts failed to stifle the display of political and social opposition, as support for Kaepernick among NFL players, other athletes, and the public has instead increased. Many players throughout the NFL’s first two weeks of the season have engaged in similar protests and Kaepernick’s jersey has now become the NFL’s number one seller, even though this season Kaepernick, a starting Super Bowl quarterback in 2012, is a back-up this year. The Aleppo Media Centre of Omran Daqneesh, aka the ‘Dusty Boy” of Aleppo, allegedly rescued by the notorious in terrorist-held East Aleppo, went viral almost immediately, rocketed into the propaganda stratosphere by the western mainstream media. Almost every mainstream media outlet worldwide showcased this video and the now infamous still photograph of “” Omran. The dusty and bloodied child was placed upon a chair in what seems to be a pristine condition ambulance, despite being in an alleged war zone, while being photographed by a number of cameras and mobile phones, while nobody actually attended to him medically – it was as if this was a staged photo-shoot. No one attended to his supposed wounds, or put him in neck brace, or on a stretcher presuming he might have had spinal injuries (standard first aid procedure) having just been rescued from ‘under the rubble’ of a bombed building which AMC claimed was from “Russian and Syrian regime airstrikes.” PROPAGANDA HUB: The Aleppo Media Center supplies US, UK, NATO members states, Qatar’s Al Jazeera and many more, with pro-regime change images, providing PR backing for listed terrorist organizations operating in Syria. This pulled off a propaganda coup – one that generated calls for a and associated western intervention policies all focused on salvaging the US failed road map of “regime change” in Syria. However, a number of independent international journalists, media analysts, and peace activists began to question the imagery and its source, which revealed some extremely disturbing details – not only about the picture itself, but more importantly about the organization who supplied it to an eager western media. “Recently, a compelling photo of a bleeding and seemingly confused young Syrian boy seated in an ambulance in Aleppo was widely distributed and commented upon in domestic and international news media. In response, some journalists have called for the Obama Administration to “take action,” including bombing government military targets in Syria.” ~ For further insights into the “dusty boy” propaganda go to 21WIRE’s video report. Starting with a meager $50,000 donation to a politician’s campaign, the pharmaceutical industry’s lobbyists make sure we keep getting those pain pill prescriptions filled at the pharmacy. This type of coercion is nothing new, but a report has just revealed that more than 7,100 politicians were paid off with various cash donations, all to make sure that America’s painkiller epidemic continues. The report details how Purdue Big Pharma lobbyist, Burt Rosen has paid who are legislative gatekeepers for pain drug approvals. With the industry’s influence, we’re kept doped up and paying out, almost endlessly. Opiod drugs have gotten so popular in the US, often selling for they might in other countries, that many will out before Cocaine or Heroine. Opiod drugs are the, but Americans consume all of them. Last year 300 million pain pill prescriptions were written in America. Most people only need during acute illnesses, through childbirth, severe trauma, burns, or during a terminal illness. Thanks to the decisions of politicians swayed by Big Pharma’s money, we use them in the US like breath mints. And then there’s the massive lobbying campaign aimed directly against a single substance which would likely end opiod abuse forever. Though the US government has claimed that marijuana has no medicinal value, it helps control seizures, stops pain, and has even to dissolve cancerous tumors. No wonder then, that Chandler Pharmaceuticals was one of the biggest donors to Arizona’s anti-marijuana campaign. The $500,000 to oppose the legalization of marijuana for recreational use, making it the largest funder to defeat Proposition 205 in the state. Though researchers. It’s not so fantastic. In fact, the same chemical building blocks that make this product so versatile are the very same ones that make plastics stick around for centuries after we’ve used them, often only one time. The entire planet has become with plastic – from medical IV bags, to plastic spoons, forks and to-go containers, to cell phone cases and plastic shopping bags. We’ve simply gone overboard with the use of this environmentally damaging and health harming substance. Fortunately – France is doing something about it. They are now the first county to ban all plastic forks, spoons, knives, cups, and plates. If you want to eat in France now, you’d better be ready to bring your own reusable utensils, or dine at an establishment that uses biodegradable, non plastic items. A controversial new law implemented in the country bans all plastic cutlery, plastic plates, and plastic cups. Though producers have until the to phase out these plastic products and replace them with more eco-friendly, biodegradable ones, many retailers and restaurants have already done the right thing and ditched the plastic. The ‘great’ garbage patch is actually the collected debris from the, located near Japan, and the Eastern Garbage Patch, located between the U.S. States of Hawaii and California. The plastics in these great accumulations of trash do not break down, they simply become smaller and smaller, eventually finding their way into even the tiniest sea creatures. Many countries have already made great strides toward reducing the plastic trash that ends up in our oceans. • already offers major tax incentives to retailers who hand out reusable bags. ChildLine, the NSPCC’s telephone counseling service, conducted more than 3,700, counseling sessions with children and teens worried about online abuse in 2015-2016 — a 24 percent uptick from the previous year. “Most of us talk to people online and it’s a great way to stay connected and make new friends,” said NSPCC Chief Executive Peter Wanless. “But it can be a playground for pedophiles, exposing young people to groomers who trawl social networks and online game forums exploiting any vulnerabilities they may find.” Figures released by the charity reveal that most of the children who contact the counseling helpline are between the ages of 12 and 15, and more than half of them are girls. The figures for grooming increased 21 percent in the year to March 2016, with one in eight counseling sessions now related to this practice. ChildLine is launching a new campaign aimed at helping children recognize the signs of grooming and unhealthy relationships both online and offline. Allopathic medicine has only begun to understand the importance of the gut – brain connection. Our intestines were only just recently named the ‘’ when it comes to keeping the body healthy, but ancient Ayurvedic practitioners have known of this connection for at least 5,000 years. When we are stressed and under pressure, the brain actually sends messages to the intestinal cells, and vice versa – communicating in ways that are surprising, and if we don’t take care of our ‘gut feelings,’ or that ‘sinking feeling in our stomachs,’ then we usually suffer the consequences. A Scientific American article quite well, “Our brain and gut are connected by an extensive network of neurons and a highway of chemicals and hormones that constantly provide feedback about how hungry we are, whether or not we’re experiencing stress, or if we’ve ingested a disease-causing microbe.” As Heribert Watzke further explains in a. AFP POOL/AFP| Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chairs the weekly cabinet meeting at his office in Jerusalem on June 11, 2017 JERUSALEM (AFP) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Sunday for the United Nations to shut down its Palestinian refugee aid agency, saying it was responsible for incitement against the Jewish state. Netanyahu said he raised the issue during the visit in recent days of Washingtons UN envoy Nicky Haley, who has accused the United Nations of bias against Israel. I told her that the time had come for the United Nations to reconsider the continued existence of UNRWA, his office quoted him as saying, referring to the UN Relief and Welfare Agency. He said that while millions of other refugees around the world were cared for by the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), only the Palestinians have their own body. In UNRWAs institutions, there is a great deal of incitement against Israel, Netanyahu said during the weekly cabinet meeting. He also said the agencys very existence perpetuates and does not solve the Palestinian refugee problem. Therefore it is time to dismantle UNRWA and merge its parts into the UNHCR, he added. UNRWA spokesman Chris Gunness said the agencys future could not be decided unilaterally. UNRWA receives its mandate from the UN General Assembly and only the UN General Assembly, by a majority vote, can change our mandate, he told AFP, adding that in December the assembly extended the mandate for a further three years. UNRWA runs hundreds of schools for Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank, Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. It also distributes aid and provides teacher training centres, health clinics and social services. Israel views the agency as biased against it and its Palestinian staff as frequently hostile. In February, the Jewish state complained the head of the UNRWA staff union in Gaza was politically active in the militant Islamist group Hamas, which rules the coastal strip. On June 1, UNRWA discovered a section of a Hamas tunnel running under two of its schools in the strips Maghazi refugee camp, the agency has said. Hamas has denied building the Maghazi tunnel, whose discovery drew condemnation from both UNRWA and Israel. On Friday, Israel sent a letter of protest to the UN Security Council over the matter. Over the years, Hamas has built a labyrinth of tunnels, some passing under the border into Israel in order to launch attacks. Even as China presents itself outwardly as a prosperous rising power, around kitchen tables and in private WeChat groups, Chinese citizens routinely grumble about a nation thats gone bankrupt when it comes to two qualities: suzhi, or personal character, and dixian, literally bottom line or a basic, inviolable sense of right and wrong. Here, the common refrain goes, is an unmoored country where manufacturers knowingly sell toxic baby formula and fraudulent childrens vaccines. Restaurants cook with recycled gutter oil and grocery stores peddle fake eggs, fake fruit, even fake rice. Reading 1 Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the Church of God that is at Corinth, with all the holy ones throughout Achaia: grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all encouragement, who encourages us in our every affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God. For as Christs sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow. If we are afflicted, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is firm, for we know that as you share in the sufferings, you also share in the encouragement. Responsorial Psalm R. (9a) Taste and see the goodness of the Lord. I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall be ever in my mouth. Let my soul glory in the LORD; the lowly will hear me and be glad. Taste and see the goodness of the Lord. The Emir of Qatar with then head of Hamas in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh on a visit in Gaza (Photo: Reuters) To understand the headlines of today, we have to recognize the global impact of political Islam (the ideology also known as Islamism). The three flag bearers of Islamism are: The Muslim Brotherhood, Khomeni-ism and Wahabi/Salafism. These ideologies control nearly 80% of the mosques and Islamic organizations throughout the world, thus influencing the Muslim psyche. • The Muslim Brotherhood: formed in 1928 as a trans-national organization with a three-prong ideology of Sunni Islamism, pan-Islamism and anti-Zionism. They support Hamas, Hezbollah, the Pakistani Jamaat-e-Islami plus other Islamist factions fighting in Syria. They believe the West is evil and their modus operanti is to infiltrate and destroy the West from within. • Khomeni-ism: In 1979, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeni came to power in an Islamic revolution in Iran. He immediately declared that he wanted to export the revolution. Khomeni was infatuated by the model of the Muslim Brotherhood and set up his regime on its principals instead of pure Shia theology. This sent shudders down the Saudi spines and started the turf war in the Muslim world which is still being fought. This is the axis of evil plaguing the Muslim world. These ideologies have led to global terrorism by declaring jihad. Their common objectives are to: • Spread hate for the West • Influence Muslims to implement sharia • Spread homophobia, xenophobia and anti-Semitism • Weaponize the term Islamophobia, as has been successfully done in the West (i.e. In Europe, UK and North America. This film comes against a frightening background wherein the US is sleepwalking into a situation where it becomes more and more likely that Russia will react. Which is precisely what so many angry American neocons and Hillary-wing Democrats seem to want! Is it really worth it to push the world closer to the nuclear precipice for this anger? Is it Trump they hate or is it truly the Russians? And why have they conflated these 2 issues? According to the first enclosed article by Conn Hallinan, Washington and the Pentagon have been very methodical about reaching this stage of thinking. What hes describing is terrifying. The outgrowth of what Obama, our Nobel Peace Prize winner, started in 2009 was the beginning of a process of modernizing our entire nuclear arsenal; it was without doubt the most dangerous and mistaken policy of his ill-fated tenure. Hallinan is describing a new First Strike Option, which consists of a limited strike on Russia with our new modified superfuze missiles to knock out Russias land-based silos. Read this scenario to believe it. Only Strangelove would. In our documentary, Putin makes it quite clear for the viewer what we have wrought with the ABMs (anti-ballistic missiles) in Eastern Europe. It has wrecked the sense of parity that had existed for so long. See the map in the film and study the stranglehold the US has put on Russia with our nuclear arsenal, and youll begin to understand how you might feel if you were Russian. Pierre Sprey and Chuck Spinney round out the nuclear picture in their article. In another 2 articles, Mike Whitney, an American Cincinnatus, examines the geopolitics and fate of the Russian/US encounter -- and the American determination to block A Greater Europe. He outlines brilliantly the growing desperation and unreasonableness of US sovereignty. Stephen Cohen, in his conversation with John Batchelor, soberly reminds us of the basic US allegations against Russia and Putin in particular. And he also reminds us how we came back to this weird place in time again (circa 1945-54), wherein 6 of these allegations pass as evidence. Shades of Joe McCarthy. MARAWI, Philippines From the third-story window of a barren government office building he now lives in as a refugee, Nasir Abdul is watching his city being destroyed. Nearly every day for the past three weeks, the Philippine military has pounded the lakeside town of Marawi with rockets and bombs as it tries to wipe out militants linked to the Islamic State group in some of the most protracted urban combat to hit this volatile region in decades. And on nearly every one of those days, Abdul has stood at the window and watched along with dozens of others who cant turn away from the deadly spectacle taking place just a mile away. As plumes of thick black smoke wafted above the citys minarets again Friday a day of intense skirmishes that saw the army lose 13 marines Abdul stood transfixed. Two helicopter gunships had just finished strafing the city, and now the people beside him were pointing toward a Vietnam-era attack aircraft circling overhead. The plane, an OV-10 Bronco, turned suddenly and dove almost straight down on the city center, letting loose two bombs before pulling its nose up and spiraling away. Moments later, blasts shook the city and more smoke billowed skyward. Simon and Garfunkel, (1970) No one could say that Donald Trump has not made politics interesting. In so doing, he may well have distorted it, mangling its practice with ingredients of corrupting alt-reality. That same process has seen a distinct cheapening as well, but it could not be anything else. Trump has revealed, within political practice, the virus that has afflicted it, the theatre that takes place from the White House, to Congress, to the Deep State. Life may be a stage, but Trumpland is a flickering pantomime, destroying any pretence of virtue in politics. There are only positions, opponents, and resolutions through bullying force. The entertainment reality show got another instalment on Thursday with the testimony of former FBI director James Comey before members of the Senate intelligence committee. The various birds of prey wishing to find smoking carrion were left only partially satisfied. The Republicans were left confused, and the right wing media felt that Trump had been exonerated. There was something for everyone. Comey did serve a few titbits, and in a political environment rich with conspiracy and assumption, these were converted into main courses. He did not, for instance, suggest that Trump was literally the subject of a counterintelligence investigation (go for the satellites, urged the former director), but garnished it with the following: As I explained, the concern of one of my senior leader colleagues was, if youre looking at potential coordination between the campaign and Russia, the person at the head of the campaign is the candidate. So, logically, this person argued, the candidates knowledge, understanding, will logically become a part of your inquiry if it proceeds. As for those circling satellites, one stood out as a rich prospect on the Russian connection: the attorney general, Jeff Sessions. Comeys testimony was notably slanted in that direction. His recusal from the Russia-link investigation in March pointed to a deeper connection. Then, the old suggestiveness about special facts, the sort that revealed as much as it concealed: I cant discuss in an open setting that would make his continued engagement in a Russia-related investigation problematic. Whether the Presidents plea on behalf of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn to call of the dogs constituted an obstruction of justice was not something Comey wished to opine on. Thats a conclusion that Im sure the special counsel will work towards to try and understand what the intention was there and whether thats an offence. The whole occasion played into a reality show that has assumed monumental proportions. Unwittingly, participants are playing to the Trump tune, followin. () Iraq for videos earlier this week showing the use of white phosphorus munitions in densely populated parts of the Old City in Mosul, but their use is becoming even more widespread, with new reports suggesting that the US is also. Though white phosphorus shells are not uncommon in the military, and often used as smokescreens, the high temperature at which it burns, and the toxic chemicals emitted makes them wholly unsuitable for populated areas, and their use in any densely populated area or as an incendiary are widely considered war crimes. In the cases where images are emerging, they are definitely in densely populated areas, with both Mosul and Raqqa apparently facing the use of white phosphorus. The US would neither confirm nor deny the use, though officials did insist that if they were using them, it was in keeping with their ongoing efforts to limit the number of civilians they killed. That assurance is less and less valuable, as US airstrikes killing soaring numbers of civilians in Mosul and Raqqa at any rate. Rights groups are warning that the use of the shells in populated areas is an undue risk, and they are seeking more information on the context in which they are being deployed. The two companies are run by the same group of people on both sides of the borders. The company is supposed to pay prisoners per bag they make in two ways. The first payment is that prisoners should be paid per bag they make, the money of course is small as you can imagine. But the real reason prisoners work is because 2 days of work is considered 3 days served off the sentence. But what the National Prison Authority () has done is based what it considers a working day on the minimum wage divided over the working hours. This means that to be considered as having worked a month a prisoners must earn 460 leva (230). This is impossible for prisoners to achieve as they earn around 5 stotinki a bag (0.25), this means they must make 460 bags a day at 5 stotinki a bag, equalling 23 leva a day, over 20 days to reach 460 leva a month. This adds up to 9200 paper bags a month which is totally absurd. The average worker in prison can make between 70 and 100 bags a day, less then a quarter of wha. The more planetary ties tend to force us together, the more do we feel the need to disengage ourselves from one another. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin,, October 1970 The purpose of this article is to criticize the non-Leninist left in the United States for failing to provide its population with answers to three questions which every world religion provides answers: a) what are we? B) where did we come from? C) where are we going? This does not imply that the left must become religious. It only means that world religions have learned over thousands of years what draws people to them and, given the small numbers of people who are leftists, we could learn much from religion. I exclude the Leninist left because their theories are less susceptible to my reservations. I call the left in the United States myopic because right now it is not rooted in the past and it is afraid to project a vision of the future. The Rise and Fall of Deep Futures on the Left Today non-Leninist socialists are mired in the present. To them, only nave liberals would dare to suggest that any futurist social life could be planned. Only nave liberal educators, scientists, engineers and technocrats who sit on committees within the United Nations would actually produce such blueprints that never see the light of day. By the 1970s it would seem that a major activity of left wing social scientists would have been to use the data in the field to construct models for a socialist future. This has not been the case. For 40 years leftist academics, acting as culture vultures, have drowned out any futurist planning schemes in a screeching cacophony of claims that projecting socialist futures was imperialist, oppressive, hopeless and out of date. David Schweickart, Michael Albert and Erik Olin Wright are three exceptions to the rule. Among non-socialists I still find that Buckminster Fuller and Oliver Reiser had breath-taking command of many disciplines and organized them in the service of a planetary civilization. Several former rebel fighters now back in the UK told MEE that they had been able to travel to Libya with no questions asked as authorities continued to investigate the background of a British-Libyan suicide bomber who killed 22 people in Mondays attack in Manchester. Salman Abedi, 22, the British-born son of exiled dissidents who returned to Libya as the revolution against Gaddafi gathered momentum, is also understood to have spent time in the North African country in 2011 and to have returned there on several subsequent occasions. British police have said they believe the bomber, who returned to Manchester just a few days before the attack, was part of a network and have arrested six people including Abedis older brother since Monday. Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said Russia had communicated US concerns to the Syrian forces, and that there had been multiple conversations over the past couple days, which have resulted in the situation around the Daraa safe zone returning to relative calm. The US accused pro-Syrian forces of violating the safe zone each of the last two days, though the drone appears to itself have been firing on US ground troops who were also inside the safe zone, which they werent supposed to enter. The US has not formally endorsed the safe zone program yet, but is clearly willing to use it as a pretext for attacks on other factions. US forces are supporting a rebel faction that holds a base at al-Tanf, and theyve said the forces they attacked were too close to that base, threatening US personnel. () In a piece for the Just Security blog () about the impact of weapons industry contributions on a Saudi arms vote, Ryan Goodman notes that money also pollutes other policy spaces that influence congressional votesincluding the news media: In March of this year, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee invited former ambassador Gerald Feiersteindirector of the Center for Gulf Affairs at the Middle East Instituteto speak about the situation in Yemen and about his views on the sale of US arms to the Saudis. As one might have anticipated from his interview in the, Feierstein told the committee, Accusations of war crimes leveled against Saudi and Coalition armed forces and threats to end arms sales to the Saudis have the potential to inflict long-lasting damage to these relationships. Limiting the supply of munitions, he said, would be counter-productive, and he added, I dont understand why if youre concerned about Saudi actions causing collateral damage you would limit the ability of them to acquire the kinds of weapons that would limit collateral damage and would allow them to be more accurate. (The answer is that you may be concerned the Saudis would use those more accurate weapons to target civilians, funeral homes and other objects on a.) Never disclosed in the Washington Post interview or in the Senate hearing was the source of funding for Feiersteins Middle East Institute. According to its most recent public report, the Institute counts among its chief donors leading members of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen and major arms manufacturers. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait provide the highest level of support as Platinum Sponsors, and the UAE is also a donor. Raytheon, the manufacturer of the very weapons at issue in the Senate hearing, is a Gold Sponsor of the Institute. It is worth noting, of course, that the Middle East Institute is not unique in Washington. The defense industry and foreign governments pump money into many. On Saturday, the Iraqi Army captured a major part of the Al-Zinjili district in western Mosul. The army managed to take control over 75% of Al-Shifa district north of the Old Mosul area. Now, ISIS fighters are completely surrounded in the Old Mosul area and few streets to north of it. The Iraqi Army is currently working to secure the rest of Al-Zinjili district and to develop advance in the Al-Shifa district. Northwest of Mosul, the Iraqi Army launched a new operation towards Al-Mahalabiah near the western town of Tal Afar. So far, the Iraqi Army has liberated Al-Zarnouk, Sheikh Qora al-Aliya, Al-Mahafeef, Dam Sinjar, Tal Khayma and Baghla in the western part of the Atashana Mountains in the Tal Afar area. The Iraqi Army is in only a few kilometers away from Al-Mahalabiah, and is expected to develop its operation in cooperation with the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU). They will likely conduct a joint operation to liberate Tal Afar from ISIS. Meanwhile, the PMU repelled an ISIS attack on the Baghdad-Mosul road. The PMU killed 17 ISIS militants, destroyed 5 ISIS vehicles, and captured several other vehicles. The Hadassah forum on the tensions between Zionism and Feminism, held on Thursday night in New Yorks Town and Village Synagogue (), was evidence of how much the U.S. Discourse has moved on the Palestine question. The panel of Zionist feminists were with one exception defensive and angry about the fact that they even need to counter accusations against Zionism from progressives as if they were being bullied, disempowered, for their views, yesterday. The panelists seemed especially agitated about the degree to which Jews are no longer regarded as an oppressed group. The word Holocaust was often mentioned, the speakers seeking to remind the audience about Jewish insecurity in the west, and the role of Zionism as a liberation movement, as an answer to the stinging accusation that even to be a liberal Zionist is to be a Zionist ho or a white supremacist. Pro-Palestinian activists fail to recognize the Jewish experience, writer Marisa Kabas said. They only see whats in front of them right now, which is the occupation. I dont blame them, but its worth going a little further back, to see why people still support the state of Israel. I want to focus on one aspect of the forum: the tension between intersectionality and orientalism, and the role of the New York Times in mediating that divide. Several panelists objected to assertions of intersectionality by the feminist movement. As I understand it, intersectionality is the idea that social injustices cannot be addressed singly without considering issues of class, race, gender, and identity. The for the Womens March links police violence to sexual violence to immigrant rights to economic justice to the need to end aggressive wars; and in this way womens rights, LGBT rights, and the struggles of people of color are bound to one another. The rise of this paradigm shows how Trump has served to radicalize the left; thus, Linda Sarsour was very prominent in the Womens March in Washington, notwithstanding her support of BDS and Palestinian rights, which would have gotten her barred from a rally if Why is Israel being singled out? I see the roots of that in intersectionality, said the panels moderator Bari Weiss, an opinion editor at the New York Times. Weiss argued that intersectionality creates a hierarchy of victimhood in which Zionist f. There is a danger that this dispute could lead to war, Gabriel said citing what he called a dramatic harshness in relations between allied and neighbouring countries in the Gulf. The foreign minister said personal talks this week with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, and phone calls with the foreign ministers of Iran and Kuwait underscored his concerns. After my talks this week, I know how serious the situation is, but I believe there are also good chances to make progress. Gabriel also said that he had a phone conversation with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on the Gulf situation on Friday and said that Tillerson showed a very wise and prudent attitude that has contributed to calming the conflict. Yet while Tillerson was calming the conflict, during a press conference on Friday Trump appeared to be adding fire to it, when the president accused Qatar of being a high level funder of terrorism even as the Pentagon and Tillerson cautioned against the military, commercial and humanitarian effects of a blockade imposed by Arab states and others. As expected, on Saturday Saudi Arabia and Bahrain welcomed Trumps demand for Qatar to stop supporting terrorism, but did not respond to a U.S. Department of State call for them to ease pressure on the Gulf state. June 6, 2017 () With a name like the National Democratic Institute (NDI) one might expect the US State Department-funded, corporate-financier chaired front to be the premier proponent of freedom and democracy worldwide. And although it poses as such, it does precisely the opposite. It uses principles like free speech, democracy, press freedom, and human rights as a facade behind which it carries out a politically motivated agenda on behalf of the special interests that fund and direct its activities. In a recent Tweet, NDI linked to a New York Times article titled,. It claimed in the Tweet that the article featured: A look at some of the projects aiming to use automated algorithms to identify and combat fake news. The article itself though, reveals nothing short of a global effort by US tech-giants Google and Facebook, in collaboration with the Western media, to censor any and all media that fails to align with Western-dominated narratives. The article itself claims: The French electorate heads to the polls in the second round of presidential elections on May 7, followed by votes in Britain and Germany in the coming months. Computer scientists, tech giants and start-ups are using sophisticated algorithms and reams of online data to quickly and automatically spot fake news faster than traditional fact-checking groups can. The goal, experts say, is to expand these digital tools across Europe, so the region can counter the fake news that caused so much confusion and anger during the United States presidential election in November, when outright false reports routinely spread like wildfire on Facebook and Twitter. The article then explains that once fake news is spotted, it is expunged from the Internet. It reports that: After criticism of its role in spreading false reports during the United States elections, Facebook introduced a fact-check. At various receptions, I had the opportunity to meet CEOs, thought leaders and various government leaders. I was aware of Saudi Vision 2030, but after meeting Ahmed Al-Khatib, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Minister of Health Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Culture and Information Awwad Al-Awwad, and other officials, I had no doubt that the vision of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is on its way to becoming.' MEXICO CITY/BERLIN Chancellor Angela Merkel is seeking to bolster support among G20 members for tackling ahead of a summit in Hamburg next month, while trying to avoid giving the impression she is rallying an anti-U.S. Alliance, German government sources say. Merkel is ready for dissent at the meeting, however, after U.S. President Donald Trumps withdrawal from a global climate change agreement, they said. Merkel told an audience in Argentina on Friday that as host of the G20, she would have to be up front about differences if all 20 highly industrialized countries failed to see eye to eye on climate and other issues, as the final communique requires unanimous consent. There will be issues where not everyone gets what we want, Merkel said, a clear nod to Trumps move to pull out of the 2015 Paris accord to combat climate change days after refusing to endorse it at summits in Europe. At the same time, Merkel, a strong advocate of the Paris accord, must stay true to her views at home, where she is seeking a fourth term in office in September national elections and where Trump remains deeply unpopular. During visits to Argentina and Mexico, Merkel highlighted her shared views with the leaders of both countries on climate change, trade and other issues. Germany is looking for allies on issues that are important to us, Merkel said after a meeting with Argentine President Mauricio Macri. German magazine Der Spiegel reported on Saturday that her staff have drawn up a 13-page paper for the July G20 summit that includes specific references to the 2015 Paris agreement setting up a potential showdown with Trump. Gaza [with video] IMEMC 10 June Israeli soldiers killed, Friday, one Palestinian and injured at [least] ten others, after the army attacked dozens of Palestinian protesters in Palestinian lands near the border fence east of Jabalia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Medical sources at the Indonesian Hospital, in nearby Beit Lahia city, said the Palestinian, identified as Aaed Khamis Joma, 35, was shot with a live round in the head. They added that the soldiers also shot and injured ten other Palestinians with live fire. Eyewitnesses said that the soldiers, stationed on military towers across the border fence, fired dozens of live rounds and gas bombs at the protesters, who were marching near the border fence, and added that the army also used drones. It is worth mentioning that the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, issued a statement mourning Joma as one of its members. There have been no armed clashes during the Israeli attack, and none of the protesters, including the slain Palestinian, carried weapons. Furthermore, the soldiers shot one Palestinian with a live round in his leg, after attacking protesters in Palestinian lands, east of the Shejaeyya neighborhood, in the eastern part of Gaza city. The wounded young man was moved to the Shifa Medical Center, west of Gaza city Three Palestinians were also shot with live Israeli army fire east of the al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza, and were moved to the Al-Aqsa hospital, in Deir al-Balah. Furthermore, the soldiers attacked protesters east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the besieged coastal region. GAZA (Maan) 8 June Israeli forces stationed on the Gaza Strips eastern borders opened live fire and shot tear gas at Palestinian youths on Thursday, injuring one Palestinian with a live bullet and causing many others to suffer from tear gas inhalation. A spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that Israeli forces injured a Palestinian with a live bullet during clashes in the east of Jabaliya refugee camp. His injuries were described as moderate. Meanwhile, the spokesperson added that Israeli forces fired tear gas at Palestinians in the east of Gaza city and east of Khan. Issa Amros voice rises steadily with anger as he speaks in the backyard of his small home in the H2 region of Hebron, where 400-850 messianic Jewish settlers live, protected by up to 2,000 soldiers, smack in the middle of a Palestinian neighborhood of 36,000. He goes on to describe the Israeli soldiers occasionally opening the door, pointing a gun at him and laughing. His voice quavers at some points, the trauma underlying his anger clearly close to the surface. He was accused of harboring a terrorist. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) found a knife at a checkpoint and, based on the accusation of a Jewish settler, claimed it belonged to one of his associates, 17-year-old Ahmed, who sometimes stays with Issa. Ahmed and Issa were held for a week without formal charge. In the occupied territories, under the military law Israel has imposed on them, Palestinians can be held much longer without an indictment. If they are charged, they face trial in a military court where proceedings are secret, the defense has no right to preview evidence, and the conviction rate is 99.74 percent. Issa is an internationally known human rights activist and the founder of Youth Against Settlements (YAS), an organization focused on non-violent resistance against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank. He has spoken around the world, including at the United Nations, and today he is addressing a group of about 48 Jewish activists including myself, the majority of them American, along with a few British, South Africans, and Belgians, who have traveled to the West Bank as part of a delegation organized by a group called the Center for Jewish Nonviolence (CJNV). There are over 130 of us, divided into five working groups, two of which are in Hebron this day. The others have been sent to other sites in the West Bank, and are presumably listening to similarly tragic testimonies. Ahmed and Issa are lucky, or at least as lucky as individuals detained and tortured in a military prison on charges supported by no credible evidence can be. Because Issa is relatively renowned, the case received some attention, leading to a DNA test on the knife that proved the weapon wasnt Ahmeds. The typical Palestinian resident of H2, of course, does not have the same connections and could end up in prison for years under the same circumstances. Understandably, Issa tells us, many residents keep their heads down and dont make trouble. ROME Pope Francis has paid a call on Italys president and encouraged Italians to cling to hope despite economic woes, especially the lack of jobs for young people. Francis spoke of young Italians difficulties in finding stable and dignified work, saying that fuels distrust in the future and doesnt favor the birth of new families and children. But he said holding to fundamental values of human and family dignity helps preserve hope. During his visit he spoke of the Church in Italy as being strongly linked to the soul of the country. The last time Pope Francis visited the Quirinale, the residence of the President of Italy and of Popes of the past, was back in November 2013 during the Presidency of Giorgio Napolitano, but this time the Holy Father was paying a call on Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic since 2015. In the majestic surroundings of this historic palace Pope Francis in a speech to the President spoke about Christian hope in a world of problems and risks. The Pope said that Italy and the whole of Europe were being called to deal with problems such as international terrorism, the widespread migratory phenomenon and the serious and persistent social and economic imbalances in many areas of the world. As far as the vast and complex migratory phenomenon is concerned, Pope Francis commented that it is clear that a few nations cannot bear the full burden, adding, for this reason, it is indispensable and urgent to develop a comprehensive and intensive international cooperation. But the Holy Father also noted that Italy, through the genero. MULTAN, Pakistan A government prosecutor says a judge has sentenced a minority Shiite Muslim to death for sharing blasphemous content about Islam on social media. Shafiq Chaudhry says Judge Shabir Ahmed announced the sentence for 30-year-old Taimore Raza on Saturday in Bahawalpur, a city in eastern Punjab province. Raza was arrested last year for allegedly posted derogatory content about Sunni Muslim religious leaders and wives of the Prophet Mohammed on Facebook. Pakistan is a predominantly Sunni Muslim country and the rivalry between Shiite and Sunni Muslims dates back to the seventh century when they had a falling out over who should be the heir to Islams prophet Mohammed. Under Pakistans harsh blasphemy laws, anyone accused of insulting God, Islam or other religious personalities can be sentenced to death. The Prime Minister has made a pledge that if re-elected, they will take steps to abolish the Human Rights Act. This is allegedly on the basis that the Act is enabling criminals and terrorists to operate freely in our society, and that the Act is preventing any progress in the domestic war on terror. The Conservatives have a long-standing tradition of openly representing the wealthy, and have been long-time enemies of any progress being made within the concept of fairness and freedom for all. Following the scene that played out in Europe from 1933-1945, with all its associated horrors, and the tyranny and abuses inflicted on humankind, the idea of protecting rights in Law made headway in 1948 when a was made. This led to the being conceived two years later. Britain signed the ECHR in November 1950, and became the first state to endorse the convention the following year. Since then the successive British governments sought to portray themselves as champions of the convention at an international level, and have committed troops, financial aid and weapons, even waged war and deposed dictators in the name of the convention and often cite human rights abuses in the media to justify their intentions. Whilst championing the convention at an international level, Britain has been very slow in incorporating those same principles into British Law, anyone claiming Human Rights violations having to take the costly route into the Strasbourg courts to be heard. After signing the convention in 1950, it took British governments until 1998 to finally acknowledge the Convention into British Law and in 2000 it was finally bound into UK law. In the 17 years since, there has been much media attention and other campaigns, committed to discrediting the Convention in respect to UK law. Ludicrous claims that the Act has started a compensation culture, given criminals and terrorists freedom to act in their crimes. The list of reasons stated is endless, which, of course, are simply lies, when you actually apply the Act to them in Law. Written into the Act are what are known as Limitations to the act, which can be applied only in pursuance of a legitimate aim, and requires that a definite legal basis applies to the pursuit of that aim. Any measures in place must be necessary, and proportionate to that aim. Legitimate aims that are acceptable to the Convention and the Act are: • Interests of National security. • Interests of public safety. • The prevention of disorder and crime. • Protection of the health, rights and freedoms of others. Any aims must also be shown to be necessary in a democratic society, and be the LEAST intrus. Having come down in a cloud, the LORD stood with Moses there and proclaimed his name, LORD. Thus the LORD passed before him and cried out, The LORD, the LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity. Moses at once bowed down to the ground in worship. Then he said, If I find favor with you, O Lord, do come along in our company. This is indeed a stiff-necked people; yet pardon our wickedness and sins, and receive us as your own. Vietnam, Taiwan and the Philippines are defying a Chinese imposed fishing moratorium in the South China Sea, which includes areas embroiled in territorial disputes, reported. The countries object to the three-month ban, which was imposed by China on May 1 without consulting them. Chinese maritime security agencies patrol the waters and have previously arrested unlicensed vessels. However, since a United Nations tribunal declined to uphold Chinas territorial claims for much of the sea last year, the legality of the countrys actions isnt certain. ******************************************** VOA. This illegal modality accounts for around one-sixth of all fish caught in the oceans, and constitutes a great public danger as it undermines global efforts to make sure that fishthe worlds most produced, consumed and traded animal proteinare a sustainable resource for global nutrition and food security, as well as for millions of jobs. The PSMA, which currently has 46 parties including the European Union, marks a sea change both in its legal form and in its practical potential. Under its protocol, foreign fishing vessels must show all required operating licenses, their activity logs, and submit to inspections of their catch. Port authorities are obliged to deny services to vessels in violation of the rules and to report them to other countries, making it harder for illegal operators to offload and sell the fish they catch elsewhere. The FAO, which brokered the treaty, is also delivering other tools to put an end to IUU fishing. It has a new initiative to improve flag-state compliance, a new set of voluntary guidelines on catch documentation schemesa passport of sorts without which fish can lose access to marketsand is in the process on creating a transparent and comprehensive global record of fishing vessels. All of these instruments complement the PSMA. It is noteworthy that the new treaty was in fact enhanced and expanded, not watered down, in its journey from draft text to binding law. That clearly shows how seriously the international community supports a powerful, viable and enduring instrument to end IUU fishing.
